Installation Guide

1. Preparation

  1. Ensure you have the correct cylinder size (30 x 60 mm for this model) for your door. Refer to the dimensions table.
  2. Gather necessary tools: screwdriver (Phillips or flathead, depending on your door's existing hardware), measuring tape.
  3. Confirm the door is open and unlocked before beginning installation.

2. Removing the Old Cylinder (if applicable)

  1. Locate the retaining screw on the side of the door, typically aligned with the cylinder. Unscrew it completely.
  2. Insert a key into the existing cylinder and turn it slightly (approximately 15-20 degrees) in either direction. This aligns the cam with the cylinder body, allowing it to slide out.
  3. Gently pull the cylinder out from the door. If it's stuck, try wiggling it slightly while turning the key.

3. Installing the New Cylinder

  1. Insert one of the new keys into the Tesa Assa Abloy T65B3060N cylinder.
  2. Turn the key slightly to align the cam (the central rotating part) with the cylinder body. This is essential for the cylinder to slide into the door.
  3. Slide the new cylinder into the door's mortise lock opening. Ensure it is flush with both sides of the door.
  4. Re-insert and tighten the retaining screw on the side of the door. Do not overtighten.
  5. Remove the key and test the cylinder's operation from both sides of the door.

Operating Instructions

The Tesa Assa Abloy T65B3060N cylinder operates with a key on the exterior side and a knob on the interior side. This design allows for quick and easy locking/unlocking from the inside without a key, while maintaining security from the outside.

  • From Exterior: Insert the key fully into the keyway. Turn the key clockwise to lock the door and counter-clockwise to unlock. Remove the key once the operation is complete.
  • From Interior: Rotate the knob clockwise or counter-clockwise to lock or unlock the door. No key is required for interior operation.

Always ensure the door is properly closed before attempting to lock it. Do not force the key or knob if resistance is met; check for obstructions or misalignment.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and smooth operation of your Tesa Assa Abloy security cylinder.

  • Lubrication: Periodically (e.g., once a year or if operation becomes stiff) apply a small amount of specialized lock lubricant (e.g., graphite-based or silicone-free) into the keyway. Do not use oil-based lubricants as they can attract dirt and clog the mechanism.
  • Cleaning: Keep the keyway free from dust and debris. You can use compressed air to blow out any foreign particles.
  • Key Care: Avoid using bent or damaged keys, as this can damage the cylinder's internal pins. Use only original Tesa keys or high-quality duplicates.
