3. Setup

Follow these steps to prepare your JEDERMANN Dehumidifier Box for use:

JEDERMANN Dehumidifier Box retail packaging

Image 2: The retail packaging of the JEDERMANN Dehumidifier Box, indicating it includes two 1200g refills.

  1. Unpack the Box: Carefully remove the dehumidifier box and the refill bag(s) from the packaging.
  2. Open the Dehumidifier Box: Gently lift the gridded top cover of the dehumidifier box to access the interior compartment.
  3. Insert Granules: Open one of the 1200g refill bags. Pour the granules into the upper compartment of the dehumidifier box, ensuring they are evenly distributed. Do not remove the white non-woven fabric bag if the granules are pre-packaged in one.
  4. Close the Box: Securely place the gridded top cover back onto the box.
  5. Placement: Place the assembled dehumidifier box in the desired location, ensuring it is on a stable, flat surface where it will not be easily knocked over. Avoid placing it directly on sensitive surfaces, as condensation may occur on the outside of the box in very humid conditions.

4. Operating

The JEDERMANN Dehumidifier Box operates passively, requiring no power. Once set up, the granules will begin to absorb moisture from the surrounding air. As moisture is absorbed, the granules will gradually dissolve, and the collected water will accumulate in the lower reservoir of the box.

  • The dehumidifier will start working immediately upon exposure to air.
  • The rate of absorption depends on the humidity level and temperature of the environment.
  • The box is designed to regulate air humidity, preventing it from becoming excessively dry.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance of your dehumidifier box.

  1. Monitor Granule Level: Periodically check the upper compartment. When most of the granules have dissolved and the lower reservoir is full of liquid, it's time for a refill.
  2. Empty Collected Water: Carefully remove the gridded top cover. Pour the collected liquid from the lower reservoir into a drain (e.g., toilet or sink). The liquid is saline water and should not be consumed.
  3. Clean the Box: Rinse the lower reservoir with water if necessary. Ensure it is clean before adding new granules.
  4. Refill: Follow the 'Setup' instructions (Section 3) to insert a new 1200g refill bag of granules.
  5. Disposal: Dispose of empty refill bags and packaging according to local waste disposal regulations.

6. Troubleshooting

Issue Possible Cause Solution
No water collected / Granules not dissolving Low humidity in the environment; granules are new and need time to activate. Ensure the room's humidity is high enough. Allow a few days for the process to start. Check if the box is placed in a well-ventilated area.
Box is full of water, but granules remain Lower reservoir is full, preventing further absorption. Empty the collected water from the lower reservoir as per maintenance instructions.
Unpleasant odor persists Source of odor is not solely humidity-related; area is too large for one box. Consider using multiple dehumidifier boxes for larger areas. Address other potential odor sources. Ensure proper ventilation.
Spillage of collected liquid Box was knocked over or placed on an uneven surface. Clean up immediately with a damp cloth. Place the box on a stable, level surface away from high-traffic areas.
