Setup

1. Preparing the Crux Reservoir

  1. Rinse the Reservoir: Before first use, rinse the Crux Reservoir and drinking tube with warm water and mild soap. Rinse thoroughly to remove any residue.
  2. Fill the Reservoir:
    • Unscrew the cap of the Crux Reservoir.
    • Fill with water or your preferred hydration liquid. Do not overfill.
    • Securely screw the cap back on, ensuring a tight seal to prevent leaks.

2. Inserting the Reservoir into the Pack

  1. Locate the insulated hydration compartment at the back of the Lobo pack.
  2. Slide the filled Crux Reservoir into this compartment. Ensure the drinking tube exits through the designated port at the top of the pack.
  3. Thread the drinking tube through the elastic loops on the shoulder strap to keep it secure and accessible.
  4. Attach the bite valve to the magnetic tube trap on the sternum strap for easy access and secure storage.

3. Adjusting the Pack

  • Shoulder Straps: Adjust the shoulder straps to ensure the pack sits comfortably and securely on your back.
  • Sternum Strap: Fasten and adjust the sternum strap across your chest for added stability and to distribute weight.
  • Waist Belt: The Lobo features a removable waist belt. Use it for extra stability during high-intensity activities, or remove it for lighter use.

Operating Your Hydration Pack

1. Hydration System Use

  • Bite Valve: To drink, gently bite the silicone valve and suck. The Crux Reservoir delivers 20% more water per sip.
  • On/Off Valve: The bite valve features an on/off lever. Turn it to the "off" position when not drinking to prevent leaks during transport or storage.
  • Magnetic Tube Trap: After drinking, simply guide the bite valve back to the magnetic clip on your sternum strap to keep it secure and easily accessible.
  • Quick Link System: To easily refill or clean your reservoir, the drinking tube can be disconnected from the reservoir with a simple click using the Quick Link system.

2. Storage and Organization

  • Main Compartment: Use for larger items like extra layers or snacks.
  • Tool Organizer Pocket: The Lobo includes dedicated internal pockets designed to organize bike tools, pumps, and other small essentials.
  • Overflow Cargo Pockets: External stretch pockets provide quick access storage for items you need on the go.
  • Helmet Carry: Utilize the external straps and hooks to securely carry your helmet when not wearing it.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning the Crux Reservoir

Clean your reservoir regularly, especially after using liquids other than water.

  1. Disconnect the drinking tube from the reservoir using the Quick Link system.
  2. Fill the reservoir with warm water and a mild soap solution.
  3. Use a reservoir brush (sold separately) to scrub the inside of the reservoir.
  4. For the drinking tube, use a small brush to clean the inside.
  5. Rinse all components thoroughly until no soap residue remains.
  6. Air dry the reservoir completely by hanging it upside down or using a reservoir dryer (sold separately). Ensure it is completely dry before storing to prevent mold and mildew.

2. Cleaning the Pack

  • Spot Cleaning: For minor dirt, use a damp cloth with mild soap to clean affected areas.
  • Hand Washing: For a more thorough clean, hand wash the pack in cool water with mild soap. Do not use bleach or harsh detergents.
  • Drying: Hang the pack to air dry completely. Do not machine wash or tumble dry, as this can damage the fabric and components.
