1. Important Safety Instructions

Please read all instructions carefully before using this appliance. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious personal injury.

• Do not immerse the appliance, power cord, or plug in water or other liquids.
• Always unplug the appliance from the outlet before cleaning and when not in use.
• Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
• Avoid contact with moving parts.
• Use only cold, fresh water in the water reservoir.
• Do not use the appliance for other than intended household use.
• Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot liquids.
• Ensure the appliance is placed on a stable, level surface away from the edge of the countertop.

2. Product Overview

The Oster PrimaLatte Automatic Coffee Maker is designed to prepare espresso, cappuccino, and latte beverages with a professional 19-bar Italian pump and an integrated milk frother.

Components:

• Water Reservoir: Removable tank for fresh water.
• Milk Reservoir: Removable tank for milk, with adjustable froth intensity.
• Portafilter: Holds ground coffee or compatible capsules.
• Control Panel: Illuminated buttons for espresso, cappuccino, latte, and manual froth.
• Drip Tray: Collects excess liquid and is removable for cleaning.
• Steam Wand: Used for manual frothing.

3. Setup

3.1 Unboxing and Initial Cleaning

1. Carefully remove all packaging materials and place the coffee maker on a flat, stable surface.
2. Wash the water reservoir, milk reservoir, portafilter, and drip tray in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
3. Wipe the exterior of the appliance with a damp cloth.

3.2 Filling the Water Reservoir

1. Remove the water reservoir from the back of the unit.
2. Fill the reservoir with fresh, cold water up to the MAX line.
3. Place the water reservoir back onto the unit, ensuring it is securely seated.

3.3 Attaching the Milk Reservoir

1. Fill the milk reservoir with your desired amount of milk (up to the MAX line).
2. Attach the milk reservoir to the side of the coffee maker.
3. Adjust the froth intensity knob on the milk reservoir to your preference.

3.4 Powering On

1. Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.
2. Press the Power button. The indicator lights will flash as the machine heats up. Once ready, the lights will become solid.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Preparing Espresso

1. Ensure the machine is powered on and ready (indicator lights solid).
2. Insert the appropriate filter basket into the portafilter for single or double espresso.
3. Fill the filter basket with ground coffee or insert a compatible espresso capsule. Tamp the ground coffee firmly.
4. Attach the portafilter to the brew head by aligning it and twisting it to the right until secure.
5. Place your cup(s) on the drip tray.
6. Press the 'Espresso' button for a single shot or the 'Double Espresso' button for a double shot. The machine will automatically brew and stop.

4.2 Preparing Cappuccino or Latte

1. Follow steps 1-5 from '4.1 Preparing Espresso'.
2. Ensure the milk reservoir is filled with milk and attached. Adjust froth intensity.
3. For Cappuccino, press the 'Cappuccino' button (single or double). The machine will first froth the milk, then brew the espresso.
4. For Latte, press the 'Latte' button (single or double). The machine will first froth the milk, then brew the espresso.

4.3 Manual Froth Function

1. Ensure the milk reservoir is filled and attached.
2. Place a cup under the steam wand.
3. Press the 'Manual Froth' button. The machine will begin to steam and froth milk.
4. Press the 'Manual Froth' button again to stop the frothing process when desired consistency is reached.

5. Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure optimal performance and extend the life of your coffee maker.

5.1 Daily Cleaning

• Drip Tray: Empty and rinse the drip tray after each use or when the indicator floats up.
• Milk Reservoir: After each use, remove the milk reservoir and rinse it thoroughly. It can be stored in the refrigerator with milk for a short period. The removable metallic part of the milk frother should also be cleaned to prevent milk residue buildup.
• Portafilter: Remove the portafilter, discard used coffee grounds/capsule, and rinse it under running water.
• Brew Head: Wipe the brew head with a damp cloth to remove any coffee residue.

5.2 Descaling

Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) can build up in the machine, affecting performance. Descaling should be performed regularly, depending on water hardness and usage frequency (e.g., every 2-3 months).

1. Empty the water and milk reservoirs.
2. Fill the water reservoir with a descaling solution according to the descaler manufacturer's instructions, or use a mixture of white vinegar and water (1:1 ratio).
3. Place a large container under the brew head and steam wand.
4. Run several cycles of espresso and milk frothing (without coffee or milk) until the water reservoir is empty.
5. Rinse the water reservoir and fill it with fresh water. Run several cycles again to flush out any remaining descaling solution.
