Directions for Use
For optimal results, Flonase Sensimist is most effective when used daily. Follow these steps for proper application:
General Usage
- Shake: Gently shake the bottle vigorously before each use.
- Uncap: With your thumb and forefinger, gently squeeze the sides of the cap and pull it straight off.
- Blow Nose: Before using, blow your nose gently into a tissue to clear your nostrils.
- Aim: Put the tip of the spray bottle into your nostril and tilt your head forward, keeping the bottle upright. Only the tip should go inside. Be sure to aim slightly away from the center of your nose.
- Breathe & Spray: While sniffing gently, press the button all the way in twice. You may feel a light mist in your nose. Breathe out through your mouth and repeat in the other nostril.
Priming the Bottle
Your bottle needs to be primed if you are starting a new bottle, haven't used it in 30 days, if the cap has been left off for 5 or more days, or if the device doesn't seem to be working.
- Pick up the bottle.
- Aim away from your face.
- Pump until a fine mist appears. If you pump six times without seeing a mist, the spray nozzle may be clogged and may need to be cleaned.
Dosing Instructions
- Adults and Children 12 years of age and older: Use two sprays in each nostril once daily for one week, then one to two sprays per nostril daily as needed for powerful all-day allergy relief.
- Children 2 to 11 years of age: Children should use for the shortest amount of time necessary to achieve symptom relief. Talk to your child's doctor if your child needs to use the spray for longer than two months a year. An adult should supervise use. Use 1 spray in each nostril once daily.
Cleaning and Storage
- To clean your Flonase Sensimist, simply wipe the spray nozzle dry with a clean tissue.
- Replace the cap and store until you're ready for your next dose.
