Setup
1. Placement
- Place the main unit on a flat, stable surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive dust or vibration.
- Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
- Position the speakers on either side of the main unit, facing the listening area. For optimal stereo separation, place them at an equal distance from the main unit.
2. Speaker Connection
- Connect the speaker wires from the main unit's speaker terminals to the corresponding terminals on each speaker. Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and - to -) for optimal sound quality.
3. Power Connection
- Plug the power cord into the AC IN jack on the rear of the main unit.
- Plug the other end of the power cord into a suitable wall outlet.
4. Initial Turntable Setup
- Remove any protective packaging or ties from the tonearm.
- Ensure the stylus protector is removed from the needle before playing a record.
- Place the dust cover onto the hinges at the back of the unit.
Operating Instructions
Power On/Off
- Press the POWER button on the front panel or remote control to turn the unit on or off.
Turntable Operation (PHONO Mode)
- Press the FUNCTION button to select PHONO mode.
- Open the dust cover.
- Place a record on the platter.
- Select the correct speed (33 1/3, 45, or 78 RPM) using the speed selector switch. For 45 RPM records, place the included adapter on the spindle if needed.
- Gently lift the tonearm using the cue lever.
- Move the tonearm over the desired starting groove of the record.
- Lower the tonearm slowly using the cue lever. The stylus will descend onto the record and playback will begin.
- To stop playback, lift the tonearm using the cue lever, return it to the tonearm rest, and lower the cue lever.
- The turntable features an auto-return function which will automatically return the tonearm to its rest position after the record finishes playing.
CD Player Operation (CD Mode)
- Press the FUNCTION button to select CD mode.
- Press the OPEN/CLOSE button to open the CD tray.
- Place a CD with the label side facing up into the tray.
- Press the OPEN/CLOSE button again to close the tray. The unit will read the disc.
- Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to start playback.
- Use the SKIP buttons (| or >|) to skip tracks.
- Press the STOP button to stop playback.
AM/FM Radio Operation (AM/FM Mode)
- Press the FUNCTION button to select AM or FM mode.
- Extend the FM wire antenna for better reception. For AM, rotate the unit for best reception.
- Use the MULTI JOG DIAL or TUNING buttons on the remote to manually tune to a station.
- Auto Scan: Press and hold the PLAY/PAUSE button (or a dedicated SCAN button if available) to automatically scan and store available stations.
- Preset Stations: To store a station, tune to the desired frequency, then press the PRESET button followed by a number button (1-10) to save it. To recall a preset, press the corresponding number button.
Bluetooth Operation (BLUETOOTH Mode)
- Press the FUNCTION button to select BLUETOOTH mode. The display will show "BLUETOOTH" or "PAIRING".
- Enable Bluetooth on your external device (smartphone, tablet, etc.).
- Search for available devices. The Teac MCD800B will appear as "MC-D800" or similar.
- Select "MC-D800" from your device's list to pair. Once connected, the display will indicate a successful connection.
- You can now play audio from your Bluetooth device through the Teac MCD800B system.
- To disconnect, disable Bluetooth on your device or select a different function mode on the Teac MCD800B.
Maintenance
Cleaning the Unit
- Always unplug the unit from the power outlet before cleaning.
- Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior surfaces.
- For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water, then wipe dry immediately.
