Setup

  1. Prepare the Paint: Ensure your paint is properly thinned according to the paint manufacturer's instructions. The TM-71 is suitable for water-based paints, oil-based paints, and latex. It is not suitable for paints containing hard particles.
  2. Fill the Paint Cup: Unscrew the paint cup from the main unit. Pour the prepared paint into the cup, ensuring not to overfill. Reattach the paint cup securely.
  3. Adjust the Nozzle: The spray gun features an adjustable nozzle for different spray patterns. Rotate the air cap to change between horizontal, vertical, and circular spray patterns.

  4. Connect Power: Plug the power cord into a standard AC100V outlet.

Operating Instructions

  1. Power On: Press the power switch located on the handle to turn on the unit.
  2. Adjust Flow Rate: Use the flow control knob (often a dial or slider near the trigger) to adjust the paint flow rate. Turn towards '+' for more paint, and '-' for less.

  3. Test Spray: Before applying to your project, test the spray pattern and flow on a piece of scrap material. Adjust as necessary.
  4. Spraying Technique:
    • Hold the spray gun perpendicular to the surface, approximately 15-30 cm (6-12 inches) away.
    • Move the gun at a consistent speed, overlapping each pass by about 50%.
    • Release the trigger at the end of each pass to avoid paint buildup.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Proper cleaning after each use is crucial for the longevity and performance of your spray gun.

  1. Disconnect Power: Always unplug the unit from the power outlet before cleaning.
  2. Empty Paint Cup: Remove any remaining paint from the cup. Clean the cup thoroughly with an appropriate cleaning solution (water for water-based paints, solvent for oil-based paints).
  3. Clean Nozzle and Air Cap: Disassemble the nozzle and air cap. Use the provided cleaning brush and bamboo stick to remove any paint residue. Ensure all holes are clear.
  4. Run Cleaning Solution: Pour a small amount of cleaning solution into the paint cup and reattach it. Spray the solution through the gun until it runs clear.
  5. Wipe Down: Wipe the exterior of the spray gun with a damp cloth.
  6. Storage: Store the clean and dry spray gun in a cool, dry place.
