5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Retekess T-AC03 keypad, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • No Power/No Lights: Ensure all power connections are secure and the power supply is functioning correctly. Check for any loose wires or short circuits.
  • Keypad Not Responding: Verify that the keypad is properly connected to the control unit. If the keypad is in lockout mode (due to too many incorrect entries), wait for the lockout period to expire or use a valid master code/card to reset.
  • Cards Not Working: Ensure the RFID cards are compatible with the keypad's frequency (e.g., 125 KHz or 13.56 MHz). Confirm that the cards have been correctly added to the system. Some cards, even of the correct frequency, may not be compatible due to encryption or specific chip types.
  • PIN Not Working: Double-check the PIN entry. Ensure the PIN is correctly programmed for the user ID. Remember that the default PIN 1234 is reserved and cannot be used as a user PIN.
  • Door Not Unlocking: Check the electric lock's power supply and connections. Verify the door relay time setting. Ensure the correct access method (card, PIN, or both) is being used for the specific user.
  • Alarm Triggering: If the alarm sounds unexpectedly, it might be due to multiple invalid card/PIN attempts. Refer to the 'Security Mode Settings' section to understand and reset the alarm mode.
  • Programming Issues: Ensure you are entering the master code correctly and following the programming sequence precisely. Incorrect key presses or timing can lead to programming failures.
