Important Safety Instructions

When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be observed, including the following:

  • Read all instructions before using your SpotClean Pro.
  • Always connect to a properly grounded outlet.
  • Unplug from outlet when not in use and before servicing.
  • Do not immerse in water or liquid.
  • Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.
  • Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer's recommended attachments.
  • Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, return it to a service center.
  • Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run appliance over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
  • Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
  • Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
  • Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep openings free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce air flow.
  • Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.
  • Turn off all controls before unplugging.
  • Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
  • Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible materials (lighter fluid, gasoline, kerosene, etc.) or use in areas where they may be present.
  • Do not use appliance in an enclosed space filled with vapors given off by oil base paint, paint thinner, mothproofing substances, flammable dust, or other explosive or toxic vapors.
  • Do not use to pick up toxic material (chlorine bleach, ammonia, drain cleaner, etc.).
  • Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
  • Do not use without filters in place.
  • Do not modify the polarized plug to fit a non-polarized outlet or extension cord.
  • Use only BISSELL cleaning products intended for use with this appliance to prevent internal component damage.

Setup

1. Filling the Clean Water Tank

  1. Remove the clean water tank from the back of the unit by lifting it straight up.
  2. Unscrew the black cap at the bottom of the clean water tank.
  3. Fill the tank with warm tap water up to the "Water" fill line. Do not use boiling water.
  4. Add BISSELL cleaning formula to the "Formula" fill line. For best results, use BISSELL Wash & Protect Professional formula.
  5. Replace the black cap and tighten securely. Place the tank back onto the unit, ensuring it clicks into place.

2. Attaching the Cleaning Tool

Select the appropriate cleaning tool (Large Stain Tool or Tough Stain Tool) for your cleaning task. Attach the tool firmly to the end of the hose until it clicks into place.

Operating Instructions

1. Pre-Treatment (Optional)

For heavily soiled areas or tough, set-in stains, pre-treating the area can improve cleaning results. Apply a small amount of BISSELL pre-treatment spray directly to the stain, allowing it to penetrate for a few minutes before cleaning.

2. Cleaning Process

  1. Plug the machine into a grounded electrical outlet.
  2. Turn on the power switch located on the front of the unit.
  3. Place the cleaning tool directly onto the stained area.
  4. Press the spray trigger to dispense cleaning solution onto the stain while slowly pulling the tool over the area.
  5. Release the spray trigger and slowly pull the tool over the same area to suction up the dirty solution. Repeat this step until no more dirt can be removed.
  6. For best results, make several passes over the area without pressing the spray trigger to ensure maximum moisture extraction.

3. Cleaning Different Surfaces

  • Carpets and Rugs: Use the large stain tool for broader areas and the tough stain tool for concentrated spots.
  • Upholstery: Test a small, inconspicuous area for colorfastness before cleaning. Use the tough stain tool for precise cleaning.
  • Car Interiors: Ideal for cleaning car mats, seats, and carpeted areas. Ensure proper ventilation.

Maintenance

1. Emptying and Cleaning the Dirty Water Tank

After each use, or when the dirty water tank reaches the "FULL" line, it must be emptied and rinsed.

  1. Turn off the unit and unplug it from the power outlet.
  2. Remove the dirty water tank by lifting it straight up from the unit.
  3. To empty, pull the tab on the tank opening and pour out the dirty water.
  4. Rinse the tank thoroughly with clean water.
  5. Replace the tank securely on the unit.

2. Cleaning Tools and Hose

  • Rinse cleaning tools under running water to remove any debris.
  • To clean the hose, fill the clean water tank with clean water (no formula). Hold the tool and hose over a sink and spray clean water through the hose until it runs clear.

3. Storage

Ensure all tanks are empty and clean before storing the unit. Wrap the power cord and hose neatly around the designated storage areas on the machine. Store the unit in a dry, protected area at room temperature.
