Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and effective use of your Bialetti White Ceramic Coffee Pourover Dripper. Designed for a controlled brewing experience, this ceramic dripper allows you to craft a personalized cup of coffee. Please read all instructions carefully before first use and retain this manual for future reference.
Safety Information
- The ceramic dripper will become hot during use. Always handle with care, using a heat-resistant glove or cloth if necessary.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
- Avoid sudden temperature changes, such as placing a hot dripper on a cold surface or rinsing with cold water immediately after use, as this may cause the ceramic to crack.
- Inspect the dripper for any cracks or damage before each use. Do not use if damaged.
- Use only with appropriate coffee filters.
Setup
- Unpack: Carefully remove the Bialetti Ceramic Pourover Dripper from its packaging.
- Initial Cleaning: Wash the dripper thoroughly with warm, soapy water before first use. Rinse completely and dry.
- Placement: Place the dripper securely on top of your chosen coffee mug or carafe. Ensure it sits stably and does not wobble.

Operating Instructions: Brewing Pour-Over Coffee
Follow these steps for an optimal pour-over coffee experience:
- Prepare Filter: Place a paper coffee filter (size #2 recommended) into the ceramic dripper.
- Rinse Filter: Pour a small amount of hot water (approximately 195-205°F or 90-96°C) over the filter to rinse it. This removes any paper taste and preheats the dripper. Discard the rinse water from your mug/carafe.
- Add Coffee Grounds: Add your desired amount of medium-fine ground coffee into the rinsed filter. Gently shake the dripper to level the coffee bed.
- The Bloom (Pre-infusion): Start a timer. Slowly pour just enough hot water to saturate all the coffee grounds. Allow the coffee to "bloom" for 30-45 seconds. This allows gases to escape, leading to a more even extraction.
- Continue Pouring: After the bloom, continue pouring hot water slowly and steadily in a circular motion, starting from the center and moving outwards, then back to the center. Avoid pouring directly onto the filter paper. Maintain a consistent water level over the coffee grounds.
- Monitor Extraction: Continue pouring until you have brewed your desired amount of coffee. The total brewing time should typically be between 2.5 to 4 minutes, depending on the grind size and desired strength.
- Serve: Once brewing is complete, carefully remove the dripper (it will be hot) and discard the used filter and grounds. Your fresh pour-over coffee is ready to enjoy.

Maintenance and Cleaning
- Daily Cleaning: After each use, discard the used coffee filter and grounds. Rinse the ceramic dripper with warm water.
- Thorough Cleaning: For a more thorough clean, wash the dripper with warm, soapy water and a soft sponge. Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue.
- Dishwasher Safe: The Bialetti Ceramic Pourover Dripper is dishwasher safe. Place it on the top rack for best results.
- Stain Removal: If coffee stains occur, a mixture of baking soda and water or a specialized coffee cleaner can be used. Apply, let sit, then scrub gently and rinse.
- Drying: Allow the dripper to air dry completely or dry with a soft cloth before storing.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Coffee brews too slowly. | Coffee grounds are too fine; filter clogged. | Use a coarser grind for your coffee. Ensure the filter is properly seated and not collapsing. |
| Coffee brews too quickly. | Coffee grounds are too coarse; water poured too fast. | Use a finer grind for your coffee. Pour water more slowly and deliberately. |
| Coffee tastes weak or watery. | Insufficient coffee grounds; water temperature too low; brewing too fast. | Increase coffee-to-water ratio. Ensure water temperature is 195-205°F (90-96°C). Adjust grind size to slow down brewing. |
| Coffee tastes bitter or over-extracted. | Water temperature too high; brewing too long; grind too fine. | Lower water temperature. Adjust grind size to speed up brewing. Reduce brewing time. |
