5.2 Cutting Height Adjustment

The mower features a single-lever 5-position height adjustment, allowing you to select a cutting height from 1-1/4 inches to 3-3/8 inches. To adjust, simply pull the lever outwards and move it to the desired position. Ensure all four wheels are at the same height setting for an even cut.

5.3 Mowing Techniques

For optimal results, mow when the grass is dry. Overlap cutting swaths slightly to ensure complete coverage. Avoid cutting more than one-third of the grass blade length at a time. If the grass is very tall, consider raising the cutting height for the first pass and then lowering it for a second pass.

5.4 2-in-1 Function: Rear Bagging and Mulching

This mower offers both rear bagging and mulching capabilities. For rear bagging, ensure the grass collection bag is properly attached. For mulching, remove the grass bag and install the mulching plug (if not already installed). Mulching finely chops grass clippings and returns them to the lawn as natural fertilizer.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

After each use, disconnect the battery and clean the mower. Remove any grass clippings, dirt, or debris from the cutting deck, wheels, and exterior surfaces. Use a damp cloth; do not use water jets or harsh chemicals directly on electrical components.

6.2 Blade Care

Regularly inspect the single metal cutting blade for sharpness and damage. A dull blade can tear grass, leading to an unhealthy lawn. If necessary, have the blade sharpened or replaced by a qualified service technician. Always wear heavy-duty gloves when handling the blade.

6.3 Storage

For convenient and compact storage, the mower features folding handles. Loosen the quick-release knobs on the handle assembly and fold the handles down. Store the mower in a dry, secure location away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove the battery before storing for extended periods.

7. Troubleshooting

If your mower is not operating as expected, check the following common issues:

  • Mower does not start: Ensure the battery is fully charged and properly seated in the compartment. Check that the safety button is pressed and the bail lever is pulled.
  • Poor cutting performance: The blade may be dull or damaged. Inspect and replace if necessary. Ensure the cutting height is appropriate for the grass length.
  • Excessive vibration: This could indicate a bent or unbalanced blade. Discontinue use immediately and have the blade inspected by a professional.
  • Grass not collecting in bag: Check if the grass bag is properly attached and not overfilled. Ensure the mulching plug is removed if you intend to bag clippings.

For more complex issues, refer to the full troubleshooting section in your Operator's Manual or contact Greenworks customer support.
