Instruction Manual

1. Introduction

This manual provides essential instructions for the assembly, operation, and maintenance of your Aquarian Phoenix 18-Foot x 52-Inch Round Above Ground Swimming Pool. Please read all instructions carefully before beginning assembly and retain this manual for future reference.

The Aquarian Phoenix pool kit includes the durable steel frame and metal wall components. Please note that accessories such as the pool liner, skimmer, pump, and ladder are sold separately and are required for a complete and functional swimming pool system.

2. Safety Information

WARNING: Failure to follow these safety instructions can result in serious injury or death.

  • Adult Supervision: Always supervise children and non-swimmers when they are in or near the pool.
  • No Diving: This is an above ground pool. Do not dive or jump into the pool. Serious injury, paralysis, or death can occur.
  • Fencing and Barriers: Install appropriate fencing or barriers around the pool to prevent unsupervised access by children. Check local regulations for requirements.
  • Electrical Safety: Ensure all electrical equipment (pumps, filters, lighting) is installed by a qualified electrician and meets local codes. Keep electrical cords away from the pool area.
  • Chemical Handling: Handle pool chemicals according to manufacturer instructions. Store chemicals in a secure, dry place away from children and pets.
  • Emergency Equipment: Keep safety equipment such as a life ring, rescue hook, and first-aid kit readily accessible.
  • Clear Pool Area: Keep the area around the pool clear of obstacles and tripping hazards.

3. Setup and Assembly

The Aquarian Phoenix pool is designed for do-it-yourself assembly. For optimal results and safety, it is recommended that at least two to four adults assist with the installation process.

3.1 Site Preparation

Proper site preparation is crucial for the stability and longevity of your pool. The ground must be perfectly level and free of rocks, roots, or other debris. A concrete slab or a compacted sand base with insulation board is recommended for the foundation. Ensure adequate drainage away from the pool area.

3.2 Component Identification

Unpack all components and verify against the parts list provided in your separate detailed instruction manual. Familiarize yourself with the 6-inch steel top rails, 5-inch vertical pillars, corrosion-resistant galvanized walls, and two high-impact resin connectors.

3.3 Assembly Steps

  1. Bottom Track Installation: Assemble the bottom track sections on your prepared, level site, forming a perfect circle. Do not fully secure all sections until the wall is in place to allow for minor adjustments.
  2. Wall Installation: Carefully unroll the galvanized steel wall into the bottom track. This step requires multiple people to hold the wall upright and guide it into the track. Ensure the wall ends meet precisely.
  3. Vertical Posts and Top Rails: Install the 5-inch vertical posts and 6-inch steel top rails, securing them with the high-impact resin connectors. Follow the specific sequence outlined in your detailed manual to ensure structural integrity.
  4. Liner Installation: Once the frame is fully assembled, install your separately purchased pool liner according to its specific instructions. Ensure the liner is centered and smooth, free of wrinkles.
  5. Filling the Pool: Begin filling the pool with water. As the water level rises, continue to smooth out any wrinkles in the liner.

4. Operating Your Pool

Once your pool is assembled and filled, proper operation ensures a safe and enjoyable swimming experience.

4.1 Water Chemistry

Maintain proper water chemistry by regularly testing and adjusting pH, alkalinity, and sanitizer levels (e.g., chlorine). Refer to the instructions provided with your pool chemicals and test kit for specific guidelines.

4.2 Filtration System

Connect your separately purchased pump and filter system according to their respective manuals. Operate the filtration system daily to keep the water clean and clear. The duration of operation will depend on pool size, bather load, and environmental conditions.

4.3 Skimmer and Returns

Ensure your skimmer and return fittings are properly installed and functioning. The skimmer helps remove surface debris, while the return circulates filtered water back into the pool.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance is essential for the longevity of your pool and the quality of its water.

  • Daily: Skim the surface for debris. Check and empty the skimmer basket.
  • Weekly: Test water chemistry and adjust as needed. Vacuum the pool floor. Brush pool walls to prevent algae growth. Backwash or clean your filter as per its manufacturer's instructions.
  • Monthly: Inspect all pool components, including the wall, frame, and connections, for any signs of wear or damage.
  • Winterization: Consult a pool professional or your detailed pool manual for proper winterization procedures specific to your climate. This typically involves lowering the water level, adding winterizing chemicals, and covering the pool.
