1. Product Overview

Gorilla Tough & Clear Mounting Tape is a clear, double-sided tape designed for instant, long-lasting, and weatherproof bonding. This crystal clear tape resists yellowing over time and can hold objects weighing up to 15 pounds. It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor projects and adheres effectively to a variety of smooth and rough surfaces.

2. Preparation and Application

Surface Preparation:

Ensure the surface where the tape will be applied is clean, dry, and free from dirt, dust, and oil. For optimal adhesion, clean surfaces with isopropyl alcohol and allow to dry completely.

Application Steps:

1. Determine Tape Length: Apply approximately 4 inches of tape per 1 pound of weight for Gorilla Tough & Clear Mounting Tape. For Heavy-Duty Gorilla Mounting Tape, use 2 inches of tape per pound of weight.
2. Apply Tape to Object: Cut the desired length of tape. Apply the tape to the back of the object vertically, ensuring even distribution of weight. Avoid touching the adhesive surfaces of the tape with your fingers. Press firmly to secure the tape to the object.

3. Remove Liner: Carefully remove the clear protective liner from the tape.

4. Position and Press: Align the object to your desired placement on the surface. Press the object firmly against the surface for at least 60 seconds. Gorilla Mounting Tape conforms to the surface and creates a strong, permanent bond.

Important Application Guidelines:

• Apply tape vertically for even weight distribution.
• Ensure the object depth does not exceed 0.75 inches for optimal hold.
• Tape must make complete contact with the surface.

3. Important Considerations

• This is a permanent tape and may cause damage or leave residue if removed.
• Not for use on applications where injury could result if mounted item falls.
• Not for use on wallpaper, delicate surfaces, polyethylene, and polypropylene plastics, Teflon® or other non-stick surfaces.
• Holding weight is based on objects with a maximum depth of 0.75 inches. Objects over 0.75 inches in depth put more stress on the bond and have an increased chance of failure.
• Tape must make contact with the surface. If the surface is uneven, the tape will not be able to make full contact and will not hold.
• Apply when the temperature is above 50°F (10°C).
• In-use temperature range: -40°F to 248°F (-40°C to 120°C).
• For easier liner removal, pinch and stretch a corner of the adhesive until the liner lifts from the tape.
