5.2. Measurement Modes

Press the MODE button to switch between the following measurement modes:

  1. RF (Radio Frequency) Mode: Measures electromagnetic radiation from wireless devices, cell towers, Wi-Fi, etc. The display will show power density (e.g., uW/m² or mW/m²) and a histogram of signal levels.
  2. LF (Low Frequency) Magnetic Field Mode: Measures magnetic fields from power lines, appliances, and electrical wiring. Readings are typically in microtesla (uT) or milligauss (mG).
  3. LF (Low Frequency) Electric Field Mode: Measures electric fields from unshielded electrical wiring and appliances. Readings are typically in Volts per meter (V/m).

5.3. Interpreting the Display

  • Main Reading: Displays the current measured value.
  • MAX Reading: Shows the maximum value recorded since the last reset or power-on.
  • AVG Reading: Displays the average value over a period.
  • Histogram: A graphical representation of signal strength over time, useful for identifying pulsed signals (e.g., Wi-Fi, DECT phones).
  • LED Bar Graph: Provides a quick visual indication of signal strength using an 8-segment color LED bar.
  • Frequency Counter: In RF mode, it can display the frequency of digital RF signals.
