5. Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance ensure optimal performance and prolong the lifespan of your humidifier. Always unplug the appliance before cleaning.

5.1 Daily Cleaning

  • Empty any remaining water from the tank and base.
  • Rinse the water tank and base with fresh water.
  • Wipe the exterior of the appliance with a soft, damp cloth.

5.2 Weekly Cleaning

  • Remove the water tank and humidifier wick.
  • Clean the water tank and base with a mild detergent and a soft brush. Rinse thoroughly to remove all detergent residue.
  • Gently rinse the humidifier wick under running water. Do not scrub or wring the wick.
  • Allow all parts to air dry completely before reassembling.

Note: This humidifier uses natural evaporation and does not have a heating plate, therefore, descaling is generally not required.

5.3 Humidifier Wick Replacement

The humidifier wick should be replaced approximately every 3-6 months, depending on water quality and usage. A worn-out wick can reduce humidification efficiency.

  1. Unplug the humidifier and remove the top cover and water tank.
  2. Remove the old humidifier wick from its holder.
  3. Insert a new Philips humidifier wick into the holder.
  4. Reassemble the humidifier.
