1. Introduction
1.1 Product Overview
The KJB Security Products DD3150 is a versatile detection device designed to locate hidden cameras and radio frequency (RF) transmissions. It offers two primary detection methods:
- Camera Lens Finder: Utilizes powerful red LEDs and a specialized viewfinder to identify the reflective lens of any hidden camera, regardless of whether it is powered on or off.
- RF Detector: Scans for and identifies radio frequency transmissions, which are commonly used by wireless cameras and other surveillance devices.
This device is intended for personal security and privacy protection, enabling users to sweep areas for unauthorized surveillance equipment.

2. Getting Started
2.1 Charging the Device
- Locate the charging port on the DD3150 device.
- Connect the provided power adapter to the charging port.
- Plug the power adapter into a standard electrical outlet.
- Allow the device to charge fully before first use. The display will indicate charging status.
2.2 Powering On/Off
- To Power On: Press and hold the power button (location typically on the side or front panel) for approximately 3 seconds until the display illuminates.
- To Power Off: Press and hold the power button again for approximately 3 seconds until the display turns off.
3. Operation
3.1 RF Detection Mode
This mode is used to detect wireless signals emitted by hidden cameras, microphones, and other RF-transmitting devices.
- Ensure the device is powered on.
- Select RF detection mode (refer to the device's physical buttons or on-screen menu if applicable).
- Slowly sweep the device around the area you wish to inspect.
- Pay attention to the signal strength indicator on the display and any audible alerts. A stronger signal or more frequent beeps indicate proximity to an RF source.
- Adjust sensitivity settings if available to narrow down the search area.
3.2 Camera Lens Finder Mode
This mode helps locate hidden camera lenses by illuminating them with red LEDs and allowing you to view reflections through a specialized viewfinder.
- Ensure the device is powered on.
- Select Camera Lens Finder mode. The red LEDs on the device will activate.
- Look through the viewfinder on the device.
- Slowly scan the room, looking for bright, pinpoint reflections. These reflections indicate the presence of a camera lens.
- Inspect common hiding spots such as smoke detectors, air vents, books, plants, and electronic devices.
4. Care and Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning
- Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the device.
- For stubborn marks, slightly dampen the cloth with water. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Keep the viewfinder and LED area free from dust and smudges for optimal performance.
4.2 Storage
- Store the DD3150 in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- If storing for extended periods, ensure the device is fully charged and periodically recharge it to maintain battery health.
5. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your DD3150, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Device not powering on:
- Ensure the device is fully charged. Connect it to the power adapter and allow sufficient charging time.
- Verify the power button is pressed and held for the required duration (approximately 3 seconds).
- RF detection not working or inconsistent:
- Check for strong interference sources nearby (e.g., Wi-Fi routers, cordless phones, microwaves) that might affect detection.
- Ensure the antenna is extended if applicable for better signal reception.
- Adjust sensitivity settings if the device has them.
- Camera lens not visible in viewfinder:
- Ensure the red LEDs are active in Camera Lens Finder mode.
- Scan the area slowly and thoroughly. Reflections can be subtle.
- Try dimming the room lights to make reflections more apparent.
- Clean the viewfinder and LED area for any obstructions.
- Short battery life:
- Ensure the device is fully charged before use.
- Battery performance can degrade over time. If the issue persists, contact support.
