3. Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the performance and safety of your range hood. It is recommended that installation be performed by a qualified installer.
3.1 Pre-Installation Checklist
- Verify all components are present: Hood body, chimney sections, mounting bracket, flexible duct work, damper, plug, and hardware.
- Ensure the wall structure can support the hood's weight (approximately 24 lbs).
- Confirm electrical supply (110 Volts) is available at the installation location.

- Install the mounting bracket securely into wall studs or with appropriate anchors.
- Mount the hood body onto the bracket.
- Connect the flexible duct work to the top vent of the hood and route it to the exterior vent (for ducted installation) or prepare for recirculation (for non-ducted).

5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficiency of your Winflo range hood.
5.1 Cleaning the Exterior
Clean the stainless steel surfaces regularly with a soft cloth and a non-abrasive stainless steel cleaner. Always wipe in the direction of the grain to prevent scratching. Avoid using abrasive pads or harsh chemicals.
5.2 Cleaning and Replacing Filters
The aluminum mesh filters should be cleaned regularly, ideally every 3-6 weeks depending on cooking frequency. Accumulated grease can reduce airflow and pose a fire risk.

Figure 5.1: Close-up of the removable aluminum mesh filter. These filters are designed to trap grease and are dishwasher safe for easy cleaning.
- Ensure the range hood is turned off and unplugged.
- Locate the filter release latches (usually spring-loaded) and push them to release the filters.
- Carefully remove the filters.
- Clean the filters in a dishwasher or by hand using hot water and a degreasing detergent. Allow them to dry completely.
- Reinsert the dry filters, ensuring they click securely into place.
If using the hood in non-ducted mode, replace the charcoal filters (WRHF004S2, sold separately) every 3-6 months, or more frequently with heavy use, as they cannot be cleaned.
