1. Introduction
The Ferrino Manaslu 2 is a robust 4-season, 2-person tent designed for reliability and ease of setup in various conditions. Its duraluminium structure with radial joints ensures stability and performance. This manual provides essential information for the proper setup, use, maintenance, and care of your tent.
2. Safety Information
- Always set up your tent on level ground, clear of sharp objects and potential falling debris.
- Ensure proper ventilation to prevent condensation and carbon monoxide buildup if using heating or cooking appliances inside (not recommended).
- Keep all flame and heat sources away from tent fabric. The tent material is not fireproof.
- Securely stake and guy out your tent in windy conditions to prevent damage or injury.
- Do not use the tent during lightning storms. Seek appropriate shelter.
3. Package Contents
Verify that all components are present before your trip:
- Tent Body
- Fly Sheet
- Poles (Duraluminium, shock-corded)
- Ground Pegs (Hexagon aluminum)
- Stuff Sack
- Repair Kit
4. Setup Instructions
Follow these steps for an easy and secure tent setup:
- Unpack and Lay Out: Remove the tent from its stuff sack. Lay the tent body flat on your chosen campsite, ensuring the floor is spread out evenly.
- Assemble Poles: Connect the shock-corded duraluminium poles. The Manaslu 2 features a supporting structure with radial joints.
- Insert Poles: Slide the assembled poles through the designated pole sleeves or attach them to the pole clips on the tent body. The inner tent is overhung on poles with hooks and a pole guide for easy attachment.
- Secure Tent Body: Once the poles are in place and the tent body takes shape, stake down the corners of the tent using the hexagon aluminum pegs.
- Attach Fly Sheet: Drape the fly sheet over the tent body, aligning the doors and ventilation openings. Secure the fly sheet to the tent poles or base using the buckles or straps provided. Ensure the fly sheet adjustment tape is used for a taut pitch.
- Guy Out Tent: Extend and stake out all reflective storm guy lines. This is crucial for stability, especially in windy or adverse weather conditions.
- Adjust Snow Flap: If applicable, adjust the reusable snow flap around the base of the tent for added protection in snowy or windy environments.

5. Operating Instructions
- Entry and Exit: The tent features sleeping area doors with external mosquito nets. These doors open fully and can be stored in a special pocket for convenience.
- Ventilation: Utilize the ventilation outlets to manage airflow and reduce condensation inside the tent. Adjust as needed based on weather conditions.
- Storage Pockets: Use the internal storage pockets to keep small items organized and easily accessible.
- Lamp Hook: A lamp hook is provided for hanging a light source inside the tent.
6. Maintenance and Care
- Cleaning: Hand wash the tent with mild soap and water. Do not use harsh detergents or bleach. Rinse thoroughly.
- Drying: Always ensure the tent is completely dry before packing it away to prevent mildew and fabric degradation. Hang it in a shaded, well-ventilated area.
- Seam Sealing: Periodically inspect taped seams on the fly-sheet and floor. Re-seal if necessary to maintain waterproof integrity.
- Pole Care: Keep poles clean and free of dirt. If a pole section breaks, use the repair kit for temporary fixes.
- Storage: Store the tent loosely in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Avoid compressing it tightly for long periods.
7. Troubleshooting
- Condensation: Ensure adequate ventilation by opening vents and doors (if weather permits). Avoid cooking inside the tent.
- Leaking: Check for tears in the fabric or fly sheet. Inspect seam tape for damage and re-seal if needed. Ensure the fly sheet is taut and properly positioned.
- Difficulty Setting Up: Refer to the setup instructions. Ensure poles are fully assembled and correctly inserted. Check for any obstructions.
- Tent Instability: Ensure all pegs are securely driven into the ground and all guy lines are extended and taut. Adjust the fly-sheet adjustment tape for optimal tension.
