5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Firman P08003 generator.
5.1 Engine Oil Change
Change the engine oil after the first 25 hours of operation, and then every 50-100 hours or annually, whichever comes first. Refer to the detailed manual for specific instructions on draining and refilling oil.
5.2 Air Filter Inspection and Cleaning
Inspect the air filter regularly and clean or replace it as needed, especially when operating in dusty conditions. A dirty air filter can reduce engine performance and lifespan.
5.3 Spark Plug Inspection
Inspect the spark plug annually or every 100 hours. Clean or replace if necessary. Use the provided spark plug tool for removal and installation.
5.4 Spark Arrester Maintenance
The generator is equipped with a USDA FS certified spark arrester. Periodically remove and clean the spark arrester screen to prevent carbon buildup, which can restrict exhaust flow.
5.5 General Cleaning and Storage
Keep the generator clean and free of debris. When storing for extended periods, ensure the fuel tank is drained or treated with a fuel stabilizer, and the engine oil is fresh.
