RoaringTop 3S 11.1V 2200mAh 35C
RoaringTop LiPo Battery Pack User Manual
Model: 3S 11.1V 2200mAh 35C
1. Product Overview
The RoaringTop 3S 11.1V 2200mAh 35C LiPo Battery Pack is designed for high-performance RC applications, including cars, boats, trucks, helicopters, and airplanes. Manufactured with premium-grade materials from Japan, it features patented electrolytes and ultrasonic welding for low resistance, high reliability, and lightweight properties. This battery offers high quality consistency, excellent power density up to 230Wh/kg, and a longer cycle life compared to many standard batteries. It maintains ultra-high voltage under load, exhibits a flat discharge curve, and performs exceptionally well at low temperatures and high discharge rates.

2. Safety Instructions
LiPo batteries are powerful and require careful handling. Failure to follow these instructions can result in fire, personal injury, and property damage. Always prioritize safety.
- Charging: Always use a LiPo-compatible balance charger. Never charge unattended. Charge on a non-flammable surface away from combustible materials. Do not charge a swollen, damaged, or punctured battery.
- Discharging: Do not over-discharge the battery below 3.0V per cell (9.0V for a 3S pack). Over-discharging can permanently damage the battery and lead to swelling.
- Storage: Store LiPo batteries at room temperature (15-25°C or 59-77°F) and at a storage voltage of 3.8V-3.85V per cell. Store in a fireproof LiPo bag or container.
- Physical Damage: Do not puncture, crush, or disassemble the battery. If the battery is damaged, stop using it immediately and dispose of it properly.
- Temperature: Avoid exposing the battery to extreme temperatures (above 60°C/140°F or below 0°C/32°F). Do not charge or discharge a hot battery.
- Disposal: Dispose of damaged or end-of-life LiPo batteries responsibly. Fully discharge the battery before disposal and consult local regulations for proper disposal methods.
- Supervision: Never leave a charging battery unattended.
3. Setup
3.1 Initial Inspection
Upon receiving your RoaringTop LiPo battery, carefully inspect it for any signs of damage, such as swelling, punctures, or frayed wires. Do not use the battery if any damage is observed. Contact customer support if the battery is damaged upon arrival.
3.2 First Charge
Before first use, fully charge the battery using a compatible LiPo balance charger. Ensure the charger settings match the battery's specifications (3S, 11.1V, 2200mAh). Always balance charge to ensure all cells are at the same voltage, which is crucial for battery longevity and safety.
4. Operating
4.1 Connecting the Battery
Connect the EC3 discharge plug of the battery to your RC vehicle's Electronic Speed Controller (ESC). Ensure a secure connection. The JST-XH balance plug is typically used for charging and monitoring cell voltages, not for powering the vehicle.
4.2 Discharging Guidelines
Monitor your vehicle's performance and battery voltage during use. Stop operation when you notice a significant drop in power or when the battery voltage reaches approximately 3.5V per cell under load. Never discharge below 3.0V per cell (9.0V for this 3S pack) to prevent irreversible damage.
4.3 Best Practices for Use
- Allow the battery to cool down before recharging after heavy use.
- Avoid continuous high-current discharge that exceeds the battery's maximum discharge rate (35C continuous).
- Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Charging Procedures
Always use a dedicated LiPo balance charger. Connect both the main discharge plug and the balance plug to the charger. Set the charger to "LiPo Balance Charge" mode, with the correct cell count (3S) and charging current (typically 1C, which is 2.2A for a 2200mAh battery). Never exceed the recommended charge rate.
5.2 Storage Guidelines
For long-term storage (more than a few days), charge or discharge the battery to its storage voltage of 3.8V-3.85V per cell. Most LiPo chargers have a "Storage" mode for this purpose. Store the battery in a cool, dry place, ideally in a fireproof LiPo bag or container, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
5.3 Regular Inspection
Periodically inspect the battery for any signs of swelling, damage to the casing, or frayed wires. Check the connectors for corrosion or damage. If any issues are found, discontinue use and follow proper disposal procedures.

6. Troubleshooting
- Battery Swelling: If the battery appears swollen, immediately discontinue use. This indicates internal damage and a potential safety hazard. Store it in a fireproof container and dispose of it safely.
- Not Holding Charge: Ensure your charger is functioning correctly and is set to the proper LiPo balance charge mode. Check for damaged wires or connectors on both the battery and charger. If the issue persists, the battery may be at the end of its life cycle.
- Reduced Run Time/Power: This can be a sign of an aging battery or an imbalance between cells. Perform a balance charge. If the problem continues, the battery's internal resistance may have increased, indicating it's time for replacement.
- Overheating During Charge/Discharge: If the battery becomes excessively hot, stop the process immediately. This could indicate an internal short, overcharging, or over-discharging.
