Product Features
- Crux Reservoir: Delivers 20% more water per sip for efficient hydration.
- Ergonomic Handle: Designed for easier refilling and handling.
- On/Off Lever: Located on the bite valve, this lever allows you to seal the drinking tube shut with one hand, preventing leaks during transport.
- Leak-Proof Cap: Engineered for secure closure, making it easier to open and close.
- Hydroguard Technology: Inhibits the growth of bacteria in the reservoir and drinking tube, maintaining water freshness.
- Big Bite Valve: Self-seals after each drink to eliminate drips.
Setup Instructions
- Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash the reservoir, tube, and bite valve with warm water and mild soap. Rinse thoroughly.
- Filling the Reservoir: Open the leak-proof cap by twisting it counter-clockwise. Fill the reservoir with water or your preferred hydration drink. Ensure not to overfill. Close the cap securely by twisting clockwise until tight.
- Inserting into Pack: Place the filled reservoir into the hydration sleeve or compartment of your backpack. Ensure the drinking tube is routed through the designated port.
- Connecting the Tube and Bite Valve: Ensure the drinking tube is firmly connected to the reservoir's Quicklink system. Attach the bite valve to the end of the drinking tube. Secure the bite valve to a convenient location on your backpack strap using the tube clip.

Operating Instructions
- Using the On/Off Lever: Before drinking, ensure the on/off lever on the bite valve is in the 'ON' position (lever pushed up, away from the bite valve). To prevent leaks during transport or when not in use, push the lever down towards the bite valve to the 'OFF' position.
- Drinking: With the lever in the 'ON' position, gently bite down on the silicone bite valve and suck to draw water. The Big Bite Valve self-seals after each drink.
- Refilling: When the reservoir is empty, remove it from your pack. Open the leak-proof cap, refill, and securely close the cap before returning it to your pack.

Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning is crucial to prevent mold and bacteria growth and to ensure the longevity of your reservoir. The Hydroguard technology helps, but proper cleaning is still necessary.
Daily Cleaning:
- After each use, empty the reservoir completely.
- Rinse the reservoir, tube, and bite valve with warm water.
- For best results, use a CamelBak cleaning kit (sold separately) to brush the reservoir interior and tube.
Deep Cleaning (Weekly or as needed):
- Mix warm water with 2 tablespoons of baking soda or 1 tablespoon of bleach.
- Fill the reservoir with the cleaning solution and let it sit for 30-60 minutes.
- Drain the solution and rinse the reservoir thoroughly with warm water.
- For the tube and bite valve, soak them in the solution and then scrub with a small brush. Rinse thoroughly.
Drying and Storage:
- Ensure all components are completely dry before storage to prevent mold.
- Use a reservoir dryer (sold separately) or hang the reservoir upside down with the opening propped open to allow air circulation.
- Store in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Leaks from cap | Cap not securely closed or O-ring damaged. | Ensure cap is twisted tightly. Inspect O-ring for damage and replace if necessary. |
| Leaks from bite valve | On/off lever in 'ON' position, bite valve damaged, or not fully seated. | Move lever to 'OFF' position. Inspect bite valve for tears; replace if damaged. Ensure bite valve is fully pushed onto the tube. |
| Reduced water flow | Bite valve clogged, tube kinked, or air in reservoir. | Clean bite valve. Straighten the drinking tube. Remove air from the reservoir by holding it upside down and squeezing. |
| Unpleasant taste | Inadequate cleaning or new product taste. | Perform a deep clean. For new product taste, rinse several times with lemon juice and water, then plain water. |
