1. Introduction

4. Setup and Installation

Follow these general steps for installing your Xilence Performance C CPU Cooler. Specific steps may vary slightly depending on your motherboard and PC case.

  1. Prepare the Motherboard: Place the motherboard on a non-conductive surface. If a CPU is already installed, ensure it is properly seated in the socket.

  3. Apply Thermal Paste (if not pre-applied): If your cooler does not have thermal paste pre-applied to its base, apply a small amount (pea-sized dot) to the center of the CPU's integrated heat spreader (IHS).
  4. Mount the Cooler: Carefully place the CPU cooler onto the CPU, aligning the mounting screws with the holes in the backplate. Press down gently and evenly.
  5. Secure the Cooler: Tighten the four spring-loaded screws in a diagonal pattern (e.g., top-left, bottom-right, top-right, bottom-left) until they are finger-tight. Do not overtighten. The spring mechanism ensures even pressure.

  6. Connect the Fan Cable: Locate the 4-pin PWM fan header on your motherboard (usually labeled "CPU_FAN") and connect the cooler's 4-pin cable to it. Ensure the connector is fully seated.
