5. Installation Instructions

Follow these steps to install your Filtrete Maximum Under Sink Water Filtration System:

  1. Prepare the Installation Area: Choose an easy-to-reach spot under your sink to mount the filter bracket. Ensure there is at least 2.5 inches of clearance under the filter cartridge for future replacements. Turn off the cold water supply to your faucet.
  2. Mount the Filter Bracket: Mark the desired location for the filter bracket. Use a drill to create pilot holes if necessary, then secure the bracket to the cabinet wall using the provided screws and a Phillips head screwdriver.
  3. Connect Water Supply Line: Disconnect the cold water flex line from the shut-off valve. Install the male water supply line adapter onto the end of the flex line, ensuring the threaded side is secure.
  4. Connect Tubing: Connect one end of the blue coiled tubing to the push-in side of the adapter on the flex line. Connect the other end of this tubing to the 'Input' side of the filter head/bracket assembly. Connect a second piece of blue coiled tubing from the 'Output' side of the filter head/bracket assembly to the cold water shut-off valve.
  5. Install Filter Cartridge: Push the filter cartridge up into the filter head and give it a quarter turn to the right until it stops and is securely locked in place.
  6. Flush the System: Slowly turn the cold water supply back on. Open your kitchen faucet and let the water run for approximately 5 to 7 minutes to flush the filter. This removes any carbon fines and air from the system.
  7. Check for Leaks: Carefully inspect all connections for any signs of leaks. Tighten connections as needed.
