LITOM Outdoor Solar Lights User Manual

Model: LTCD011AB

1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing LITOM Outdoor Solar Lights. This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of your solar light. Please read it thoroughly before installation and use, and retain it for future reference.

2. Product Features

  • Enhanced Illumination: Equipped with advanced high-power LEDs and a power management chip, these solar lights offer a wide-angle design, increasing illumination angle and area by 50%. A single light can cover up to 18.5 square meters.
  • Motion-Activated Lighting: The lights absorb sunlight and convert it into electricity during the day. At night, they illuminate for 20 seconds upon motion detection. The illumination time extends if motion is detected again, providing light as needed.
  • Three Convenient Modes: Unlike single-mode solar lights, LITOM outdoor solar lights offer 3 operating modes to suit various usage scenarios.
  • Durable and Weatherproof: Featuring an IP65 waterproof rating, the design fully protects the internal circuit and battery, extending the product's lifespan. These LED lights are FCC certified for reliability.

3. Package Contents

Please check the package for the following items:

  • LITOM Outdoor Solar Light (1 unit)
  • Mounting Screws and Wall Plugs
  • User Manual

4. Setup and Installation

For optimal performance, ensure the solar panel receives direct sunlight for at least 6-8 hours daily. Avoid installing under shades or artificial light sources that might interfere with the light sensor.

  1. Choose a Location: Select a location that receives ample direct sunlight throughout the day and where the light is needed at night, such as a front door, patio, garage, or pathway.
  2. Mounting Height: Install the light at a height of approximately 1.8 to 2.5 meters (6 to 8 feet) for optimal motion detection and light coverage.
  3. Drill Holes: Use the provided template or mark the positions for the mounting screws on the wall. Drill two holes.
  4. Insert Wall Plugs: Insert the wall plugs into the drilled holes.
  5. Mount the Light: Align the light with the holes and secure it with the provided screws.

The front view shows the solar panel at the top, the LITOM logo, a central motion sensor, and multiple LED lights arranged around the sensor. The side view shows the angled design. Dimensions are approximately 15.39 cm wide, 10.49 cm high, and 4.6 cm deep.

5. Operating Instructions

Your LITOM solar light features three distinct operating modes, selectable via a switch located on the unit. Ensure the light is fully charged before first use by placing it in direct sunlight for a full day.

Diagram showing the three optional lighting modes for the LITOM solar light. Mode 1: Medium Light Mode (light stays on all night). Mode 2: Dim Light Sensor Mode (light turns on dim, brightens on movement, returns to dim after 17-20 seconds). Mode 3: Sensor Mode (light is off, turns bright on movement, turns off after 17-20 seconds). An illustration of the physical switch with positions OFF, 1, 2, 3 is also shown.

Figure 3: Lighting mode selection switch. This image details the three operational modes and how to select them using the physical switch on the device.

Lighting Modes:

  • Mode 1 (Medium Light Mode): The light remains on at a medium brightness throughout the night. This mode is suitable for continuous ambient lighting.
  • Mode 2 (Dim Light Sensor Mode): The light stays on at a dim level. When motion is detected, it brightens to full intensity. After approximately 17-20 seconds of no motion, it returns to the dim state. Ideal for areas requiring constant low light with temporary bright illumination.
  • Mode 3 (Sensor Mode): The light remains off until motion is detected. Upon detection, it illuminates at full brightness. After approximately 17-20 seconds of no motion, the light turns off completely. This mode is energy-efficient and best for security or occasional lighting needs.

To select a mode, use the switch on the underside of the unit. Cycle through the positions (OFF, 1, 2, 3) until your desired mode is active.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your solar light.

  • Clean Solar Panel: Periodically wipe the solar panel with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, or debris. A clean panel ensures efficient charging.
  • Check Mounting: Ensure the light remains securely mounted to prevent accidental falls or damage.
  • Battery Care: The integrated battery is designed for long life. Avoid prolonged storage in a completely discharged state. If storing for an extended period, ensure it is fully charged first.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your solar light, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Light does not turn on at night.Insufficient solar charge.Ensure the solar panel is in direct sunlight for 6-8 hours. Clean the solar panel.
Light is dim or flickers.Low battery charge.Allow the light to charge for a full day in direct sunlight.
Motion sensor is not working.Incorrect mode selected or obstruction.Ensure Mode 2 or Mode 3 is selected. Check for obstructions blocking the sensor.
Light stays on during the day.Light sensor interference.Relocate the light away from other light sources (e.g., streetlights, porch lights) that might trick the sensor into thinking it's night.
