Setup

1. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
  2. Slide the cover open.
  3. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2. Connecting the Pickup Cable (Optional for Tuner Mode)

For direct and accurate tuning, especially in noisy environments, use the included pickup cable:

  1. Insert the 6.35mm (1/4 inch) plug of the pickup cable into the INPUT jack on the side of the EMT-800.
  2. Attach the clamp to the headstock of your instrument (e.g., guitar, violin). Ensure a secure connection for optimal signal detection.

Operating Modes

1. Metronome Mode

To use the metronome function:

  1. Press the Power Button (⑁) to turn on the device.
  2. Press the M/T Button until the device is in Metronome mode (indicated on the display).
  3. Adjusting Tempo: Press the TEMPO Button, then use the ▲ / ▼ Buttons to set the desired tempo (30-260 BPM).
  4. Adjusting Beat: Press the BEAT Button, then use the ▲ / ▼ Buttons to select the number of beats per measure (0-9).
  5. Adjusting Rhythm: Press the SOUND Button (♫), then use the ▲ / ▼ Buttons to choose from 9 available rhythm patterns.
  6. Adjusting Volume: Use the Volume Slider on the side of the device to set the desired sound level.
  7. The metronome will start automatically once settings are applied.

2. Tuner Mode

To tune your instrument:

  1. Press the Power Button (⑁) to turn on the device.
  2. Press the M/T Button until the device is in Tuner mode (indicated on the display).
  3. Selecting Tuning Mode: Press the ITEM Button, then use the ▲ / ▼ Buttons to select your instrument type: Chromatic (C), Guitar (G), Bass (B), Ukulele (U), or Violin (V).
  4. Adjusting Calibration (Pitch): Press the PITCH Button, then use the ▲ / ▼ Buttons to set the A4 calibration frequency (430-450Hz). The standard is 440Hz.
  5. Tuning Your Instrument: Play a single note on your instrument. The display will show the detected note and a needle/indicator showing if the note is flat, sharp, or in tune. Adjust your instrument's tuning pegs until the indicator is centered and the display shows the correct note.
  6. The device can detect sound via its built-in microphone or through the connected INPUT cable with clamp.

3. Tone Generator Mode

To generate a reference tone:

  1. Ensure the device is in Tuner Mode.
  2. Press the SOUND Button (♫). The device will now generate a continuous tone.
  3. Use the ▲ / ▼ Buttons to cycle through different notes (e.g., C, C#, D, etc.).
  4. Adjust the Volume Slider on the side to control the tone's output level.
  5. To exit Tone Generator mode, press the SOUND Button (♫) again.
