Description of Rear Panel Connections:

  • ANTENNA (FM, GND, AM): Connect your FM antenna to the 'FM' coaxial input. For AM reception, connect the supplied AM loop antenna to the 'AM' terminals. Ensure the 'GND' terminal is connected to a good ground if experiencing interference.
  • AUDIO OUT (L/R RCA): Connect these RCA outputs to an available analog input on your amplifier or receiver (e.g., 'Tuner In', 'Aux In'). Use high-quality RCA cables for optimal sound.
  • RS232: This port is for advanced control systems and firmware updates. Consult a professional installer for its use.
  • IR IN: Connect an external IR receiver here if the tuner is placed in a cabinet or where the remote control's line of sight is obstructed.
  • +12V TRIGGER IN: This input allows the C427 to be turned on or off by another component with a 12V trigger output.
  • POWER INLET (100-240V~ 50/60Hz): Connect the supplied AC power cord here. Ensure the voltage matches your local power supply.
  • POWER SWITCH (ON/OFF): The main power switch for the unit.

Initial Power On

After all connections are made, plug the power cord into a wall outlet. Flip the main POWER switch on the rear panel to the 'ON' position. The front panel display should illuminate.

Operating

Basic Tuning

  • Selecting Band: Use the 'AM/FM' button on the front panel or remote to switch between AM and FM bands.
  • Manual Tuning: Rotate the tuning knob on the front panel or use the 'TUNE +/-' buttons on the remote to manually adjust the frequency.
  • Auto Scan: Press and hold the 'TUNE +/-' buttons or use the 'SCAN' function (if available on remote) to automatically scan for the next strong station.
