Safety Information

Important Safety Precautions:

  • Always operate the centrifuge on a stable, level surface.
  • Ensure the power supply matches the specifications listed on the device.
  • Do not open the lid while the rotor is spinning. The safety lid-lock feature prevents the lid from opening until the rotor has completely stopped.
  • Always balance tubes of equal weight and volume opposite each other in the rotor to prevent vibration and damage.
  • Do not overload the rotor. The centrifuge is designed for 15ML x 8 tubes.
  • Keep the area around the centrifuge clear of obstructions.
  • In case of unusual noise or vibration, immediately press the "Stop" button and disconnect power.
  • Only qualified personnel should perform maintenance or repairs.

Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the centrifuge from its packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage.
  2. Placement: Place the centrifuge on a sturdy, level, and vibration-free surface. Ensure adequate clearance around the unit for ventilation.
  3. Power Connection: Connect the power cord to the centrifuge's power input at the rear (refer to Figure 3). Plug the other end into a grounded electrical outlet that matches the specified voltage (AC 110 V 50/60 Hz).
  4. Initial Inspection: Open the lid and ensure the rotor is securely installed and free of any foreign objects.

Operating Instructions

  1. Power On: Flip the main power switch located at the rear of the unit to the "ON" position. The LCD display will illuminate.
  2. Load Samples: Press the "Open" button to unlock and open the lid. Carefully place your balanced sample tubes into the rotor slots. Ensure tubes of equal weight and volume are placed opposite each other to maintain balance. Close the lid firmly until it latches.
  3. Set Time: Use the "Time" adjustment buttons (up/down arrows) on the control panel (refer to Figure 5) to set the desired centrifugation duration from 10 seconds to 99 minutes.
  4. Set Speed: Use the "Speed" adjustment buttons (up/down arrows) to set the desired RPM (100-5000 rpm). The display can be toggled between RPM and RCF if needed.
  5. Start Operation: Press the "Start/Stop" button to begin the centrifugation cycle. The rotor will accelerate to the set speed.
  6. Monitor Progress: The LCD display will show the remaining time and current speed.
  7. End of Cycle: Once the set time elapses, the centrifuge will decelerate, and an audible bell signal will sound. The lid will automatically open when the rotor has completely stopped.
  8. Retrieve Samples: Carefully remove your samples from the rotor.
  9. Short Spin Function: For quick, brief spins, load samples and close the lid. Press and hold the "Short Spin" button. The centrifuge will spin at a preset high speed for as long as the button is held. Release the button to stop. The lid will open automatically after deceleration.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Regularly clean the exterior of the centrifuge and the rotor chamber with a soft cloth dampened with mild detergent or a laboratory disinfectant. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure no liquids enter the internal components.
  • Rotor Care: Inspect the rotor for any signs of corrosion or damage. Clean any spills immediately. Ensure the rotor is dry before re-installing or operating.
  • Lid Seal: Check the lid seal for any cracks or wear. A damaged seal can affect performance and safety.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the centrifuge in a clean, dry environment with the lid slightly ajar to allow for air circulation.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Centrifuge does not power on.Power cord disconnected; power switch off; no power from outlet.Check power cord connection; ensure power switch is ON; test outlet with another device.
Lid does not open.Rotor still spinning; lid mechanism jammed.Wait for rotor to stop completely; press "Open" button. If still stuck, contact support.
Excessive vibration or noise during operation.Unbalanced samples; rotor not properly seated; centrifuge on unstable surface.Stop operation immediately. Re-balance samples; ensure rotor is correctly installed; move centrifuge to a stable surface.
Centrifuge stops unexpectedly.Power interruption; internal error.Check power supply. If power is stable, restart the unit. If problem persists, contact support.
