2. Setup and Installation
2.1 Unpacking and Contents
Before beginning installation, ensure all components are present and undamaged. The package should include:
- Motherboard
- Cables and connectors
- Quick setup guide
2.2 Component Installation
Always ensure your system is powered off and unplugged before installing or removing any components. It is recommended to wear an anti-static wrist strap to prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage.
2.2.1 CPU Installation
The motherboard features an LGA 1151 socket for Intel processors. Follow these steps to install your CPU:
- Locate the CPU socket on the motherboard.
- Gently push down the load lever and pull it to the side to open the CPU socket cover.
- Carefully align the triangular mark on the CPU with the corresponding mark on the CPU socket. Ensure the notches on the CPU align with the keys on the socket.
- Lower the CPU straight down into the socket without applying force. The CPU should sit flush.
- Close the load plate and secure it by pushing the load lever back into place.

2.2.2 CPU Cooler Installation
After installing the CPU, apply a thin, even layer of thermal paste to the CPU's integrated heat spreader (IHS). Then, install the CPU cooler according to its manufacturer's instructions. For stock Intel coolers, align the push pins with the holes on the motherboard and press down firmly until they click into place. Connect the CPU fan cable to the CPU_FAN header on the motherboard.
2.2.3 Memory (RAM) Installation
This motherboard supports DDR4-2133 memory. To install RAM modules:
- Open the clips at both ends of the DIMM slot.
- Align the notch on the RAM module with the key in the DIMM slot.
- Press down firmly on both ends of the RAM module until the clips snap into place.
