  3. Slide the battery cover back into place until it clicks securely.

2. Programming Your Remote

Your GE Universal Remote Control can be programmed using two methods: Direct Code Entry or Auto Code Search. The remote is preprogrammed for immediate use with Samsung TVs via the TV button.

Direct Code Entry (Recommended)

This method allows you to program the remote by entering a specific code for your device brand.

  1. Turn on the device you wish to control (e.g., TV, DVD player).
  2. Locate the remote codes for your device brand in the provided code list (refer to the manufacturer's website or included code booklet).
  3. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator light on the remote turns on, then release.
  4. Press and release the desired device button on the remote (e.g., TV, DVD, CBL, AUX). The red indicator light will blink once and remain lit.
  5. Using the number buttons, enter the 4-digit code for your device. After entering the last digit, the red indicator light will turn off if the code is valid.
  6. Point the remote at the device and test different functions (e.g., Power, Volume, Channel). If the device responds, programming is complete. If not, repeat the process with the next code listed for your brand.

  2. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator light turns on, then release.
  3. Press and release the desired device button (e.g., TV, DVD, CBL, AUX). The red indicator light will blink once and remain lit.
  4. Point the remote at the device and press the POWER button repeatedly (approximately every 2 seconds). The remote will send different codes until the device turns off.
  5. Once the device turns off, immediately press the ENTER button to lock in the code. The red indicator light will turn off.
  6. Test the remote's functions. If some functions do not work, repeat the Auto Code Search process, as the next code might offer better compatibility.
