1. Introduction
The FOWARD GAUSS GR6000 is a professional-grade metal detector designed for the precise detection of various precious metals and minerals. This device utilizes advanced radar technology to identify targets such as gold, silver, copper, diamonds, and other gemstones across a wide detection range and significant depth. This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective operation, setup, and maintenance of your GR6000 metal detector.
2. Safety Information
Please read and understand all safety instructions before operating the GR6000 metal detector. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in injury or damage to the device.
- Environmental Conditions: The GR6000 is designed for various environments, including wet conditions (IP54 rating for splash resistance). However, avoid submerging the main unit in water.
- Battery Safety: Use only the specified rechargeable Lithium Ion battery. Do not attempt to open, puncture, or expose the battery to extreme temperatures.
- Electrical Safety: Ensure the charging port is dry before connecting the charger. Do not operate the device near live electrical wires or equipment.
- Physical Safety: Be aware of your surroundings when operating the detector, especially in uneven terrain or near obstacles.
- Children: Keep the device out of reach of children. Adult supervision is required if children are present during operation.

4. Setup
4.1 Assembly
Follow these steps to assemble your GR6000 metal detector:
- Attach the Handle: Securely screw the handle into the designated connection point on the main control unit by rotating it clockwise until firm.
- Install Sensor Antennas: Insert the two sensor antennas into their respective ports on the Power Max Detection Scanner. Ensure they are fully seated.
- Extend Antennas: Gently extend the sensor antennas to their full length for optimal signal reception during operation.

5.1 Powering On/Off
- To Power On: Press and hold the Power Button (refer to Figure 3.2) until the display illuminates.
- To Power Off: Press and hold the Power Button again until the display shuts down.
5.2 Navigating the Interface
The GR6000's display provides various modes and settings, accessible via the control buttons located below the screen:
- SCAN: Initiates a general scan for targets.
- TARGET: Allows selection of specific target types (e.g., Gold, Silver, Diamond).
- DEPTH: Adjusts the desired detection depth.
- RANGE: Sets the detection range.
- FREQ (Frequency): Fine-tunes the operating frequency for different targets or ground conditions.
- VOLUME: Adjusts the audio output level.

5.3 Target Selection and Detection
To optimize your search, select the desired target type and adjust parameters:
- Press the TARGET button to cycle through available metal types (e.g., Gold, Silver, Copper, Diamond).
- Use the DEPTH and RANGE buttons to set your desired search parameters. The GR6000 offers a maximum detection distance of 1200m and a maximum depth of 100m (optimal accuracy below 20m).
- Adjust the FREQ if necessary to fine-tune the detection for specific ground conditions or target types.
- Once settings are configured, press SCAN to begin the detection process. The device will provide visual and audio feedback when a target is detected.

6. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your GR6000 metal detector.
- Cleaning: After each use, wipe down the main unit and antennas with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure all ports are clean and dry.
- Storage: Store the detector in its protective carrying case in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Battery Care: For long-term storage, charge the battery to approximately 50% every few months to maintain battery health.
- Inspection: Periodically check all connections and components for any signs of wear or damage.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your GR6000, refer to the following table for common problems and solutions.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Device does not power on | Low battery; Loose battery connection; Faulty power button | Charge the battery; Ensure battery is correctly installed; Contact customer support if button is unresponsive. |
| Inaccurate detection or no signal | Antennas not extended; Incorrect target settings; High electromagnetic interference; Ground mineralization | Extend antennas fully; Verify target type, depth, and range settings; Move to an area with less interference; Adjust frequency or sensitivity. |
