Introduction
Thank you for choosing the Noma Indoor 24 Setting Timer. This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of your new timer. Please read these instructions carefully before use and retain them for future reference.
This timer is designed to automate the on/off cycles of indoor electrical appliances, helping you save energy and add convenience to your daily routine. It features a simple mechanical dial for setting up to 24 on/off intervals per day and a manual override switch.
Safety Information
Always observe the following safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury:
- Indoor Use Only: This timer is designed for indoor use in dry locations. Do not expose it to water, rain, or excessive humidity.
- Electrical Rating: Do not exceed the electrical rating of the timer. Overloading the timer can cause overheating and fire. Refer to the specifications section for details.
- Polarized Plug: The timer has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
- No Ground Pin: Please note that this timer is designed with a 2-prong plug and does not include a ground pin. Ensure that the appliance you are connecting to the timer also has a 2-prong plug or is suitable for use with an ungrounded outlet. Do not attempt to force a 3-prong appliance plug into this timer.
- Unplug When Not In Use: Unplug the timer from the outlet when not in use or before cleaning.
- Children and Pets: Keep the timer out of reach of children and pets.
- Do Not Disassemble: Do not attempt to open or repair the timer. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.

Setup

An image showing the Noma Indoor 24 Setting Timer. The timer is a compact white square unit with a large grey rotating dial on the front. The dial is marked with numbers from 1 to 12 for both AM and PM, and has small pins for setting intervals. A 'TIME NOW' arrow indicates the current time. The unit has a two-prong plug on the back and an outlet on the side.
- Unpack: Carefully remove the timer from its packaging.
- Plug In: Plug the Noma timer into a standard 120V AC wall outlet.
- Set Current Time: Rotate the outer dial clockwise until the "TIME NOW" arrow points to the current time of day. The dial is marked with numbers 1-12 for both AM and PM. Ensure you distinguish between AM and PM hours (e.g., 3 PM is marked as 3 on the inner ring, while 3 AM is marked as 3 on the outer ring).
- Set ON/OFF Times:
- The dial has small, push-down pins around its circumference. Each pin represents a specific time interval (typically 30 minutes).
- To set an "ON" period, push the pins down for the duration you want the appliance to be on.
- To set an "OFF" period, leave the pins up for the duration you want the appliance to be off.
- You can set multiple on/off periods throughout the 24-hour cycle.
- Connect Appliance: Plug the appliance you wish to control into the outlet on the side of the Noma timer. Ensure the appliance's power switch is in the "ON" position if it has one, so the timer can control its power supply.
Operating Instructions
Once set up, the timer will automatically turn your connected appliance on and off according to the programmed schedule.
- Automatic Operation: The timer's dial will continuously rotate, and the pins you pushed down will activate the connected appliance when the "TIME NOW" arrow aligns with them, and deactivate it when the "TIME NOW" arrow passes over the pins that are left up.
- Manual Override Switch: The Noma timer includes a manual override switch, typically located on the top or side of the unit.
- Move the switch to the "ON" position to keep the appliance continuously on, overriding the timer settings.
- Move the switch to the "OFF" position to keep the appliance continuously off, overriding the timer settings.
- Move the switch to the "TIMER" or "AUTO" position (if available) to resume automatic operation based on your programmed settings.
Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and reliable operation of your timer.
- Cleaning: Disconnect the timer from the power outlet before cleaning. Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or immerse the timer in water.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the timer in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the timer and its cord for any signs of damage, such as frayed wires or cracks. If damage is found, discontinue use and replace the unit.
