5.5 Continuous Run Time
The shredder is designed for a continuous run time of 20 minutes. After this period, it will automatically shut off to prevent overheating. Allow the shredder to cool down for approximately 30-40 minutes before resuming operation.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Emptying the Waste Bin
When the waste bin full indicator illuminates, or when the bin is visibly full, it needs to be emptied. Unplug the shredder, open the front panel, and carefully pull out the waste bin. Dispose of the shredded material responsibly. Reinsert the bin securely before resuming operation.
6.2 Oiling the Shredder Blades
Regular oiling of the shredder blades is crucial for optimal performance and longevity. Use shredder lubricant sheets or liquid shredder oil (specifically designed for paper shredders) every 30 minutes of accumulated shredding time or at least twice a month.
Using Lubricant Sheets:
- With the shredder powered on, insert one lubricant sheet into the paper entry slot as if shredding paper.
- Allow the sheet to be fully shredded.
- Run the shredder in reverse for 5-10 seconds to distribute the oil.
Using Liquid Shredder Oil:
- Apply a thin line of shredder oil across the paper entry slot.
- Run the shredder in forward mode for 5-10 seconds to distribute the oil.
- Then, run it in reverse for 5-10 seconds.
6.3 Cleaning the Shredder
Wipe the exterior of the shredder with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the shredder is unplugged before cleaning.
