1. Introduction

The BOSS Audio BM650AMPBT is a pair of amplified, marine-grade, all-terrain speaker pods designed for use in various outdoor environments, including ATVs, UTVs, and boats. These 6.5-inch, 2-way speakers feature a built-in 750 Watt Class D amplifier, Bluetooth audio streaming, and an IPX5 weatherproof rating, ensuring durability and high-quality sound performance.

2. Safety Information

  • Power Connection: Ensure all power connections are secure and correctly polarized to prevent electrical shorts or damage.

3. Setup

3.1 Mounting the Speaker Pods

  1. Identify a suitable mounting location on your ATV, UTV roll cage, or boat waketower. The adjustable cast aluminum swivel clamps fit bars from 1.5 inches to 2.5 inches in diameter.
  2. Loosen the clamp bolts and position the speaker pods on the bar.
  3. Adjust the angle of the speakers for optimal sound projection.
  4. Tighten the clamp bolts securely to prevent movement during vehicle operation. Do not overtighten.

3.2 Power and Audio Connections

  1. Connect the main power cable to a 12V DC power source. Ensure the red wire connects to the positive (+) terminal and the black wire to the negative (-) or ground terminal.
  2. Connect the wired Bluetooth controller to the speaker system using the provided DIN connection.
  3. For auxiliary input, connect your audio device (e.g., smartphone, MP3 player) to the 3.5mm AUX-in jack on the wired Bluetooth controller.
  4. Route all cables away from heat sources, moving parts, and sharp edges. Secure cables with zip ties or clamps to prevent snagging or damage.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Powering On/Off

Press and hold the power button on the wired Bluetooth controller to turn the system on or off. The controller's buttons are illuminated for visibility.

4.2 Bluetooth Pairing

  1. Ensure the BM650AMPBT system is powered on.
  2. On your mobile device (smartphone, tablet, etc.), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  3. Select 'BOSS Audio BM650AMPBT' from the list of devices.
  4. Once paired, the system will confirm the connection, and you can begin streaming audio wirelessly.

4.3 Using the Wired Bluetooth Controller

The inline wired remote provides convenient control over your audio playback:

6. Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Check all power connections, including the 12V DC source and ground. Ensure the power button on the controller is pressed.
  • No Sound: Verify that the audio source is playing and the volume is turned up on both the speaker system and your connected device. Check Bluetooth pairing or auxiliary cable connection.
  • Bluetooth Not Connecting: Ensure the speaker system is in pairing mode. Turn off and on Bluetooth on your mobile device, then try pairing again. Ensure no other devices are currently connected to the speakers.
  • Distorted Sound: Reduce the volume on both the speaker system and your audio source. Check for loose connections or damaged cables.
