2. Setup and Installation
Unpacking
Remove all packaging materials, tape, and protective film from the freezer. Inspect the freezer for any shipping damage. Report any damage to the retailer immediately.
Location
Choose a location that is:
- Level: The freezer must be placed on a level surface to operate efficiently and prevent vibrations.
- Well-ventilated: Allow at least 3 inches (7.6 cm) of space on all sides and the back for proper air circulation.
- Away from heat sources: Avoid direct sunlight, heat registers, stoves, or other heat-producing appliances.
- Suitable for temperature: This chest freezer is designed to operate in a wide range of ambient temperatures, including garage environments.

Electrical Connection
Plug the freezer into an exclusive, grounded 120 Volt, 60 Hz AC outlet. Do not use an extension cord or adapter plug. Ensure the outlet is properly grounded.
Initial Cleaning
Before first use, clean the interior of the freezer with a mild detergent and warm water. Wipe dry thoroughly.
First Use
After positioning and plugging in the freezer, allow it to operate for 2-3 hours before placing food inside. This allows the interior to reach the desired temperature.

3. Operating Instructions
Temperature Control
The temperature control dial is located on the lower front of the freezer. It has settings from 'Min' to 'Max' and 'Off'.
- 'Min' setting: Provides a less cold temperature.
- 'Max' setting: Provides the coldest temperature.
- 'Off' setting: Turns off the cooling system. The freezer will not operate.
For optimal food preservation, a mid-range setting is usually sufficient. Adjust the dial gradually and allow several hours for the temperature to stabilize before making further adjustments.

Power Indicator Light
A green power indicator light is located next to the temperature control dial. This light illuminates when the freezer is properly connected to power and operating.
Loading the Freezer
- Do not overload the freezer. Allow space for air to circulate around items for efficient freezing.
- For best results, freeze small quantities of food at a time.
- Use freezer-safe containers or wraps to prevent freezer burn.

Power Outage
In the event of a power outage, keep the freezer lid closed. Food will remain frozen for approximately 24 hours if the lid is kept closed. Do not open the lid unnecessarily.

4. Maintenance
Defrosting (Manual Defrost)
This freezer features manual defrost. Defrost the freezer when frost accumulation reaches about 1/4 to 1/2 inch (0.6 to 1.2 cm) thick. Excessive frost reduces cooling efficiency.
- Unplug the freezer from the electrical outlet.
- Remove all food items and place them in another freezer or cooler.
- Place towels on the floor around the freezer to absorb water.
- Open the drain plug (if available) or leave the lid open to allow frost to melt. Do not use sharp objects to remove ice.
- Once defrosted, clean the interior with a mild detergent and warm water.
- Dry thoroughly before plugging the freezer back in and returning food.
Cleaning the Exterior
Clean the exterior surfaces with a soft cloth and mild soap and water. Wipe dry to prevent streaks.
Care During Vacations or Storage
- Short Vacations: Leave the freezer operating.
- Long Vacations/Storage: Remove all food, unplug the freezer, defrost, clean, and dry the interior. Leave the lid slightly ajar to prevent odors and mold growth.
Energy Saving Tips
- Locate the freezer in the coolest part of the room, away from heat-producing appliances or direct sunlight.
- Ensure adequate ventilation around the freezer.
- Do not open the freezer lid more often than necessary.
- Ensure the lid gasket seals properly.
- Defrost regularly to prevent excessive frost buildup.
