  • Non-stick Coated Inner Pan
  • Glass Lid with Plastic Knob
  • Measuring Cup
  • Rice Paddle
  • Power Cord

Setup and First Use

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
  2. Cleaning: Before first use, wash the inner pan, glass lid, measuring cup, and rice paddle with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit or power cord in water.
  3. Placement: Place the rice cooker on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from walls or cabinets to allow for proper ventilation and steam release. Ensure the power cord can reach an electrical outlet without being strained.
  4. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

Cooking Rice:

  1. Measure Rice: Use the provided measuring cup to measure the desired amount of uncooked rice. One full cup (180ml) of uncooked rice yields approximately 2 cups of cooked rice. The maximum capacity is 5.5 cups of uncooked rice (11 cups cooked).
  2. Rinse Rice: Rinse the rice thoroughly under cold running water until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch and prevents stickiness.
  3. Add Water: Place the rinsed rice into the inner pan. Add water according to the rice type and desired consistency. A common ratio for white rice is 1:1 (1 cup rice to 1 cup water). For brown rice, a ratio of 1:2 (1 cup rice to 2 cups water) is often recommended. Refer to the water level markings inside the inner pan for guidance.
  4. Place Inner Pan: Ensure the exterior of the inner pan is dry, then place it into the main unit.
  5. Close Lid: Place the glass lid securely on the rice cooker.
  6. Start Cooking: Press the "COOK" switch down. The "COOK" indicator light will illuminate.
  7. Automatic Keep Warm: Once cooking is complete, the switch will automatically flip up, and the "WARM" indicator light will illuminate. The rice cooker will automatically switch to the "Keep Warm" function for up to 5 hours.
  8. Serve: Use the provided rice paddle to fluff and serve the rice.

Steaming Vegetables or Other Foods:

While this model does not include a dedicated steamer basket, you can use the inner pan for steaming by adding water and placing a heat-safe dish with your food inside, ensuring the water does not touch the food. Cover with the lid and press the "COOK" switch. Monitor cooking closely as there is no automatic shut-off for steaming unless the water fully evaporates.

Important Notes:

  • Do not open the lid frequently during cooking, as this can affect cooking results.
  • For best results, allow rice to rest on "Keep Warm" for 10-15 minutes after cooking is complete before serving.
  • The "Keep Warm" function is designed to maintain temperature, not to cook. Prolonged use of "Keep Warm" (beyond 5 hours) may dry out or discolor the rice.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your rice cooker.

  1. Unplug: Always unplug the rice cooker from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Inner Pan: Wash the non-stick inner pan with warm, soapy water using a soft sponge or cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, metal scrubbers, or sharp utensils, as these can damage the non-stick coating. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  3. Glass Lid: Wash the glass lid with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry. Be careful not to immerse the lid if water can get trapped in the knob assembly.
  4. Main Unit: Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth. For stubborn stains, use a mild detergent. Do not immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid.
  5. Measuring Cup and Rice Paddle: Wash with warm, soapy water, rinse, and dry.
  6. Storage: Store the rice cooker in a dry place, ensuring all parts are clean and dry before storage.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Rice is too hard/undercooked. Insufficient water; lid not properly closed; power interruption. Add slightly more water next time; ensure lid is sealed; check power connection.
Rice is too soft/mushy. Too much water; rice not rinsed properly. Reduce water slightly next time; rinse rice thoroughly before cooking.
Rice sticks to the bottom of the pan. Not enough water; prolonged "Keep Warm" time; pan not clean. Ensure correct water ratio; limit "Keep Warm" to 5 hours; clean pan thoroughly.
Cooker does not turn on. Not plugged in; power outlet issue; damaged cord/plug. Check power cord connection; test outlet with another appliance; contact customer support if cord/plug is damaged.
"COOK" light does not illuminate. Cook switch not fully pressed down. Ensure the cook switch is fully engaged.
