1. Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective installation, operation, and maintenance of your new Rotary high-lift lawn mower blade. This blade is designed for use with Woods 60-inch deck models RM59, RM500, L59, and F35. Please read this manual thoroughly before attempting any installation or maintenance procedures to ensure proper function and safety.
2. Safety Information
WARNING: Always disconnect the spark plug wire or remove the battery cable before performing any maintenance or installation on your lawn mower to prevent accidental starting and serious injury.
- Wear heavy-duty gloves when handling the blade, as edges are sharp.
- Wear eye protection to guard against flying debris.
- Ensure the mower is on a flat, stable surface and secured against movement.
- Never work under a mower supported only by a jack. Use jack stands.
- Refer to your mower's original owner's manual for specific safety precautions and procedures.
3. Product Overview
The Rotary high-lift lawn mower blade is constructed from high-grade steel, designed to provide an efficient and clean cut for a well-maintained lawn. Its high-lift design creates a strong airflow, which helps to stand grass blades upright for a more even cut and better bagging or mulching performance.

4. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps carefully to replace your lawn mower blade. Always prioritize safety.
- Prepare the Mower: Disconnect the spark plug wire or remove the battery cable. Position the mower on a flat, stable surface. If tilting the mower, ensure the carburetor side is up to prevent fuel or oil leaks.
- Secure the Blade: To prevent the blade from turning while loosening the bolt, wedge a block of wood between the blade and the mower deck.
- Remove Old Blade: Using a wrench, loosen the blade bolt by turning it counter-clockwise. Remove the bolt, washer, and the old blade. Note the orientation of the old blade for correct installation of the new one.
- Inspect Components: Check the blade adapter, washer, and bolt for wear or damage. Replace any worn parts.
- Install New Blade: Position the new Rotary blade onto the blade adapter, ensuring the cutting edge faces the correct direction (usually towards the direction of rotation, with the curved "lift" portion pointing upwards towards the deck). The center hole of the blade should align with the adapter's post.
- Secure New Blade: Place the washer (if applicable) and blade bolt back on. Tighten the blade bolt clockwise using a torque wrench to the manufacturer's specified torque (refer to your mower's manual). If a torque specification is not available, tighten securely.
- Check Balance: After installation, it is recommended to check the blade's balance. A balanced blade reduces vibration and extends the life of your mower.
- Reconnect Power: Reconnect the spark plug wire or battery cable.

5. Operating Guidelines
Once the blade is installed, ensure all safety guards are in place before operating the mower. Always operate the mower according to its original manufacturer's instructions. A sharp, properly installed blade contributes to a cleaner cut and healthier lawn.
- Avoid mowing wet grass, as it can clog the deck and lead to an uneven cut.
- Clear the mowing area of any debris (stones, sticks, toys) that could damage the blade or be thrown by it.
- Regularly check the blade for damage or dullness, especially after hitting an obstruction.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance of your lawn mower blade ensures optimal performance and extends its lifespan.
- Cleaning: After each use, clean grass clippings and debris from the blade and underside of the mower deck. This prevents rust and maintains balance.
- Sharpening: Sharpen the blade regularly, typically after every 20-25 hours of use, or when you notice the grass tips are torn rather than cleanly cut. Use a blade sharpener or file, maintaining the original cutting angle. Ensure the blade remains balanced after sharpening.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the blade for cracks, bends, or excessive wear. A damaged blade should be replaced immediately to prevent further damage to the mower or potential injury.
