Introduction

Welcome to Monopoly Electronic Banking, an updated version of the classic property trading game. This edition introduces an electronic banking unit and bank cards to manage transactions, making gameplay faster and more dynamic. Property values can fluctuate, and Event cards add exciting twists to the game. This manual provides essential information for setting up, playing, and maintaining your game.

Components

Before starting, ensure all components are present:

• 1 Game Board
• 1 Electronic Banking Unit
• 4 Plastic Tokens
• 22 Houses
• 49 Cards (4 Bank Cards, 22 Title Deed Cards, 23 Event Cards)
• 2 Dice
• 1 Game Guide (this manual)

Setup

1. Place the Game Board: Unfold the game board and place it on a flat playing surface.
2. Install Batteries: The Electronic Banking Unit requires 1 battery (type not specified, typically AAA or AA). Open the battery compartment on the back of the unit, insert the battery, and close the compartment. Ensure correct polarity.
3. Prepare the Electronic Banking Unit: Turn on the electronic banking unit. Each player selects a Bank Card. Insert each Bank Card into the unit to register the player and their starting funds.
4. Choose Tokens: Each player selects one of the 4 plastic tokens to represent them on the board.
5. Distribute Cards:
   • Shuffle the Title Deed Cards and place them face down on their corresponding spaces on the board.
   • Shuffle the Event Cards and place them face down on the designated space on the board.
6. Place Houses: Keep the 22 houses nearby. They will be used to develop properties.
7. Dice: Place the 2 dice next to the board.

Operating (Gameplay)

The game is played by 2 or more players. The objective is to be the last player remaining with money and properties.

Starting the Game

• Each player rolls both dice. The player with the highest total goes first. Play proceeds clockwise.
• All tokens start on the 'GO' space.

Player Turn

On your turn, follow these steps:

1. Roll the Dice: Roll both dice and move your token clockwise the corresponding number of spaces.
2. Action on Space: The action you take depends on the space your token lands on:
   • Unowned Property: You may buy the property for the price indicated. Insert your Bank Card into the electronic unit, then the Title Deed card, and confirm the purchase. If you choose not to buy, the property is auctioned.
   • Owned Property: If another player owns the property, you must pay rent. The electronic unit automatically calculates and transfers the rent when both your Bank Card and the owner's Title Deed card are inserted.
   • Event Space: Draw an Event Card and follow its instructions. Event cards can introduce exciting game changes, including property value fluctuations.
   • Go: Collect your salary as you pass or land on 'GO'. The electronic unit handles this automatically.
   • Other Spaces: Follow instructions for spaces like 'Jail', 'Free Parking', or 'Go to Jail'.
3. Doubles: If you roll doubles, take your turn as usual, then roll again. Three consecutive doubles send you to Jail.
4. End of Turn: Your turn ends after you complete your action.

Property Development

Once you own all properties in a color group, you can build houses. The electronic unit tracks property values and rent increases automatically as houses are added.

Bankruptcy and Winning

If you cannot pay your debts, you are bankrupt and out of the game. The last player remaining wins.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe the game board and plastic components with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or liquids.
• Storage: Store all game components in their original box in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
• Electronic Unit: Remove batteries from the electronic banking unit if the game will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
• Cards: Handle cards carefully to prevent bending or tearing, as this may affect their readability by the electronic unit.

Troubleshooting

• Electronic Unit Not Turning On: Check if batteries are inserted correctly and are not depleted. Replace with fresh batteries if necessary.
• Card Not Reading: Ensure the card is inserted correctly into the electronic unit. Check for any damage or dirt on the card's barcode or the unit's reader.
• Incorrect Transaction: Double-check that the correct Bank Card and Title Deed/Event Card are being used for the transaction. If issues persist, try resetting the unit by turning it off and on again.
