2. Setup and Installation
Proper installation ensures maximum protection and longevity of your SBU Boat Cover. Follow these steps for a secure fit:
- Unfold the boat cover and identify the front (bow) and rear (stern) sections.
- Carefully drape the cover over your boat, ensuring it is centered and covers the entire vessel.
- Utilize the fully elastic cord in the hem around the bottom for a semi-custom, tight fit.
- Secure the cover using the integrated buckle and strap system. Thread the tie-down trailering straps through the designated loops and tighten them firmly to prevent wind lofting.
- Ensure all stress points are reinforced and corners are non-scratch to protect your boat's finish.
Note: For optimal performance and to prolong the life of your boat cover, the use of a support pole and sandbag mooring kit is highly recommended. These items are sold separately.

3. Operating and Usage
The SBU Boat Cover is designed for versatile use, providing protection in various scenarios:
- Trailering: The integrated buckle and strap system allows for secure trailering at generally accepted safe speeds, preventing the cover from flapping or coming loose.
- Storage: Ideal for long-term storage, whether your boat is on a trailer, dock, or boat lift. It protects against dust, dirt, and environmental elements.
- Mooring: Provides reliable protection while your boat is moored, safeguarding it from sun, rain, and debris.
The cover includes air vents to prevent wind lofting during trailering and to allow for proper air circulation, reducing moisture buildup and mildew formation.

4. Care and Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and effectiveness of your SBU Boat Cover, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the cover with mild soap and water. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive brushes that could damage the urethane coating. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely before folding and storing.
- Storage: When not in use, fold the cover neatly and store it in the provided storage bag in a dry, cool place. This prevents mildew and extends the cover's life.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the cover for any signs of wear, tear, or damage. Promptly repair any small tears to prevent them from enlarging.
- Material Properties: The 600 Denier Marine Grade Polyester material is designed not to stretch or shrink, maintaining its fit over time. It also boasts a high rating of water repellency.

5. Troubleshooting and Important Notes
Consider the following points to ensure proper fit and function:
- Fit Issues: If your boat has a wakeboard tower, bow rails over 6 inches in height, or an extended swim platform, please contact SBU customer support to ensure the proper cover fit.
- Motor Hoods: Outboard (O/B) motor hoods are sold separately and are not included with this boat cover.
- Water Pooling: To prevent water from pooling on the cover, which can lead to stretching or damage, it is highly recommended to use a support pole. This creates a peak, allowing water to run off.
