1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your new KINGSTORE carburetor. This carburetor is designed as a direct replacement for specific Tecumseh engine models, including HM100, HMSK100, and HMSK90, replacing OEM part numbers 632370 and 632110. Please read this manual thoroughly before attempting any installation or operation to ensure proper function and safety.
2. Safety Information
Always observe safety precautions when working with fuel systems and internal combustion engines. Failure to do so can result in serious injury or property damage.
- Ensure the engine is cool and disconnected from its power source (e.g., spark plug wire removed) before beginning any work.
- Work in a well-ventilated area. Fuel vapors are flammable and hazardous.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and gloves.
- Keep fire extinguishers readily available.
- Dispose of old fuel and parts according to local regulations.

5. Installation
This section outlines the general steps for replacing your old carburetor with the new KINGSTORE unit. Specific procedures may vary slightly depending on your exact engine model. Refer to your engine's service manual for detailed instructions if necessary.
5.1. Preparation
- Ensure the engine is off and cool.
- Disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting.
- Turn off the fuel supply valve (if equipped) and drain the fuel tank.
- Place a suitable container under the carburetor to catch any residual fuel.
5.2. Removal of Old Carburetor
- Carefully disconnect the fuel line from the carburetor.
- Disconnect any throttle linkages, choke linkages, or governor springs attached to the carburetor. Note their positions for reassembly.
- Remove the mounting bolts or nuts that secure the carburetor to the engine intake manifold.
- Gently remove the old carburetor and gasket. Inspect the intake manifold surface for cleanliness.
5.3. Installation of New Carburetor
- Ensure the engine mounting surface is clean and free of debris.
- Place the new gasket (included) onto the mounting studs or surface.
- Position the new KINGSTORE carburetor onto the gasket and secure it with the mounting bolts/nuts. Tighten evenly to specification (refer to engine manual).
- Reconnect all throttle linkages, choke linkages, and governor springs to their original positions.
- Reconnect the fuel line to the carburetor. Ensure a secure, leak-free connection.
- Reconnect the spark plug wire.
6. Operation
After installation, follow these steps to start and operate your engine.
- Refill the fuel tank with fresh, appropriate fuel for your engine.
- Open the fuel supply valve.
- Set the choke to the "START" or "CHOKE" position.
- Set the throttle to the "FAST" or "RUN" position.
- Start the engine according to your equipment's manufacturer instructions (e.g., pull starter cord, turn key).
- Once the engine starts, gradually move the choke to the "RUN" position as the engine warms up.
- Allow the engine to warm up for a few minutes before applying load.
Note: Initial starting may require several pulls or longer cranking to allow fuel to prime the carburetor.
7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your carburetor.
- Fuel Quality: Always use fresh, clean fuel. Stale or contaminated fuel is a primary cause of carburetor issues. Consider using a fuel stabilizer if storing equipment for extended periods.
- Fuel Filter: Regularly inspect and replace the fuel filter (if equipped) to prevent debris from reaching the carburetor.
- Air Filter: Ensure the engine's air filter is clean and properly installed. A dirty air filter can affect the air-fuel mixture.
- Cleaning: If performance issues arise, the carburetor may require cleaning. This typically involves disassembling the carburetor, cleaning jets and passages with carburetor cleaner, and replacing gaskets. This procedure should only be performed by individuals with appropriate mechanical knowledge.
8. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter. For complex problems, consult a qualified service technician.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Engine will not start | No fuel, stale fuel, clogged fuel filter, incorrect choke setting, spark plug issue. | Check fuel level and quality. Replace fuel filter. Adjust choke. Inspect/replace spark plug. |
| Engine runs rough or stalls | Dirty carburetor jets, improper fuel mixture, air leak, dirty air filter. | Clean carburetor. Check for air leaks around manifold. Clean/replace air filter. |
| Fuel leaks from carburetor | Damaged gasket, loose connections, faulty float needle. | Inspect and tighten connections. Replace gasket. Inspect float and needle valve. |
| Loss of power | Clogged fuel filter, dirty air filter, carburetor issues. | Check fuel and air filters. Clean carburetor. |
