Setup: Setting Your Combination
Your DELSEY PARIS luggage lock comes preset to 0-0-0. To set your personal combination, follow these steps:
- Ensure the lock is set to the default combination (0-0-0) and the shackle is open.
- Locate the reset button. This is typically a small, recessed button on the side or bottom of the lock. You may need a pen or a pointed object to press it.
- While holding the reset button down, rotate the dials to your desired 3-digit combination. Choose a memorable number.
- Release the reset button. Your new combination is now set.
- Scramble the dials to lock the shackle and test your new combination to ensure it opens the lock.
Important: Remember your combination. There is no master key or backdoor to reset the combination if forgotten without the correct sequence.
Operating the Lock
To Lock:
- Align the shackle with the locking mechanism on your luggage.
- Push the shackle firmly into the lock body until it clicks into place.
- Scramble the combination dials to secure the lock.
To Unlock:
- Rotate the combination dials to your personal 3-digit code.
- The shackle will automatically release or can be pulled open.
This lock is TSA (Transportation Security Administration) approved, meaning TSA agents can open your luggage for inspection without damaging the lock, using a universal master key. Your personal combination remains secure.
Maintenance
- Keep the lock clean and free from dirt or debris, especially around the dials and shackle mechanism.
- Avoid exposing the lock to extreme temperatures or harsh chemicals, which may damage the materials.
- If the dials become stiff, a small amount of silicone-based lubricant can be applied, but avoid oil-based lubricants.
- Store the lock in a dry place when not in use.
Troubleshooting
Lock Will Not Open:
- Incorrect Combination: Double-check that you have entered the correct 3-digit combination. Ensure each number is precisely aligned in the center of the window.
- Dials Not Aligned: Sometimes, the dials might be slightly off. Gently wiggle each dial to ensure it's perfectly aligned with the indicator marks.
- Reset Button Stuck: If you recently reset the combination, ensure the reset button is not stuck in the pressed position.
Shackle Is Stiff:
- Dirt/Debris: Clean the shackle and the opening thoroughly.
- Lubrication: Apply a small amount of silicone lubricant to the shackle where it enters the lock body.
If problems persist, please contact customer support.
