1. Product Overview

The Tech Restarter Digital Outlet Timer is designed to automate the power cycling of electronic devices. By periodically resetting your equipment, such as Wi-Fi routers, modems, printers, and other smart home devices, this timer helps to clear memory leaks and resolve minor software glitches, ensuring consistent and optimal performance.

This device features a digital display for easy programming, two integrated outlets, and a backup battery to retain settings during power outages or when unplugged for programming.

2. Safety Information

4. Device Layout

Familiarize yourself with the components of your Tech Restarter Digital Outlet Timer:

  • Digital Display: Shows current time and programming settings.
  • Mode Button: Used to cycle through programming modes (Clock, On Time, Off Time).
  • Hour Button: Adjusts the hour during time setting.
  • Minute Button: Adjusts the minute during time setting.
  • Reset Button: Recessed button to clear all settings and restart the device. Use a small pointed object to press.
  • Power Plug: For connecting the timer to a wall outlet.
  • Output Outlets (x2): For connecting devices to be controlled by the timer.

5. Setup and Initial Programming

The Tech Restarter features a backup battery, allowing you to program it before plugging it into a wall outlet.

5.1. Setting the Current Time

  1. Press the Mode button once. The display will show "Clock" and the current time will flash.
  2. Press the Hour button repeatedly to set the correct hour (AM/PM indicator will change accordingly).
  3. Press the Minute button repeatedly to set the correct minute.
  4. Press the Mode button again to confirm and exit clock setting mode.

5.2. Programming On/Off Times

This timer allows you to set one ON time and one OFF time for daily power cycling.

  1. Press the Mode button twice. The display will show "On Time" and the ON time will flash.
  2. Use the Hour and Minute buttons to set the desired time for your devices to power ON.
  3. Press the Mode button again. The display will show "Off Time" and the OFF time will flash.
  4. Use the Hour and Minute buttons to set the desired time for your devices to power OFF.
  5. Press the Mode button one last time to save your settings and return to the current time display. The display will show "Power On" or "Power Off" indicating the current state of the outlets.

Note: To reset all settings to factory defaults, use a small pointed object (like a paperclip) to press the recessed Reset button on the device.

6. Operation

  1. After programming, plug the Tech Restarter Digital Outlet Timer into a standard 110V AC wall outlet.
  2. Plug the electronic devices you wish to control into the two output outlets on the timer. Ensure the total power consumption of connected devices does not exceed 1100W.
  3. The timer will now automatically power ON and OFF your connected devices according to your programmed schedule. The display will indicate "Power On" when the outlets are active and "Power Off" when they are inactive.

7. Maintenance

  • To clean the device, wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
  • Ensure the device is unplugged before cleaning.
  • Store the timer in a cool, dry place when not in use.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Device not powering ON/OFF as scheduled:
        - Verify that the current time is set correctly.
        - Recheck your programmed ON and OFF times.
        - Ensure the timer is securely plugged into a live wall outlet.
  • Display is blank or unresponsive:
        - Ensure the timer is plugged into a live wall outlet. The internal backup battery may be depleted if the device has been stored for a long time without power.
        - Try pressing the recessed Reset button with a small pointed object to restart the unit.
  • Connected device not resetting:
        - Confirm that the connected device is properly plugged into one of the timer's outlets.
        - Check if the connected device itself is functioning correctly when plugged directly into a wall outlet.
  • Timer makes no sound or light:
        - This timer operates silently and does not have indicator lights beyond the digital display. Refer to the display for operational status.
