Setup and Installation

The Safety 1st Easy Install Auto-Close Gate is a pressure-mounted gate designed for openings between 29 and 38 inches wide. It stands 28 inches tall.

  1. Unpack and Inspect: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect for any damage or missing parts.
  2. Position the Gate: Place the gate in the desired opening. The gate will initially have a gap at the latch mechanism; this is normal for pressure-mounted gates and will close as tension is applied.
  3. Adjust Tension Bolts: Rotate the tension adjustment bolts at each corner of the gate until the gate is snug against the door frame or wall. Ensure the gate is level.
  4. Install Wall Cups: Once the gate is snug, mark the positions for the wall cups. Remove the gate temporarily, attach the wall cups to the wall or door frame using the provided screws (if applicable, or strong adhesive for non-drilling applications as per product instructions). Re-position the gate so the tension bolts rest inside the wall cups.
  5. Final Tightening: Continue to tighten the tension adjustment bolts evenly until the gate is firmly secured and the gap at the latch mechanism is minimal or closed. The SecureTech indicator (see Operating Instructions) should show green when properly locked.

Operating Instructions

The gate features an auto-close mechanism and a SecureTech indicator for ease of use and safety.

Opening the Gate

  • To open, simultaneously press the button on the top of the latch and lift the gate door slightly.
  • Swing the gate door open in either direction.

Closing the Gate

  • Simply release the gate door, and the auto-close feature will gently swing it shut and lock it automatically.
  • Ensure the gate clicks into the locked position.

SecureTech Indicator

The SecureTech indicator provides a visual confirmation of the gate's locked status.

  • Green Indicator: The gate is securely locked.

Maintenance
