6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the safe and efficient operation of your heater. The heater should be inspected before each use and at least annually by a qualified service person.

  • Check all fittings for leaks. Apply a 50/50 mixture of liquid soap and water to all joints. Bubbles forming indicate a leaking connection. Correct all leaks before proceeding.
  • The hose assembly shall be visually inspected prior to use of the heater. If there is excessive abrasion, wear, or the hose is sliced, it must be replaced prior to the heater being put into operation.
  • Store the heater in a dry, protected area when not in use.

7. Troubleshooting

If your heater is not operating correctly, refer to the following common issues:

  • Heater does not ignite: Ensure the propane tank valve is fully open and the regulator is set to a heat level (High, Medium, or Low). Confirm the push-button thermo-electric valve is pressed and held during ignition. Check for sufficient propane in the tank.
  • Flame goes out: Ensure the push-button thermo-electric valve was held long enough (5-10 seconds) after ignition for the thermocouple to heat. Check for proper connection to the propane tank and adequate propane supply. The tip-over safety shut-off may have activated if the heater was disturbed.
  • Reduced heat output: Verify the regulator is set to the desired heat level. Ensure the propane tank has sufficient fuel.

For persistent issues or repairs, contact a qualified service technician.
