Setup
1. Hardware Installation
- Attach Antennas: Carefully screw the two external antennas onto the connectors on the ALFA Network AWUS036AC adapter. Ensure they are finger-tight.
- Connect to Cradle (Optional): Insert the AWUS036AC adapter into the USB 3.0 cradle. The cradle provides flexible positioning for optimal signal reception.
- Connect to Computer: Plug the USB connector of the adapter (or the cradle's cable) into an available USB 3.0 port on your computer. For best performance, use a USB 3.0 port.

2. Driver Installation
The ALFA Network AWUS036AC requires specific drivers for proper functionality.
- Windows: Drivers are available for Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, and 10.
- macOS: Drivers are available for Apple macOS 10.4 to 10.13.
- Linux: Driver support is available for various Linux distributions, including Kali Linux.

Operating Instructions
Connecting to a Wi-Fi Network
- Verify Driver Installation: After installing the drivers and connecting the adapter, ensure your operating system recognizes the new Wi-Fi adapter.
- Access Wi-Fi Settings:
- Windows: Click the Wi-Fi icon in the system tray (bottom-right corner of the screen).
- macOS: Click the Wi-Fi icon in the menu bar (top-right corner of the screen).
- Linux: Access network settings through your desktop environment's system menu.
- Select Network: A list of available Wi-Fi networks will appear. Select your desired network (SSID).
- Enter Password: If prompted, enter the Wi-Fi password (security key) for the selected network.
- Connect: Click "Connect" to establish a connection.
The AWUS036AC supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. Your computer will automatically detect and connect to the appropriate band based on your network configuration and signal strength.
