4. Setup

4.1 Power Connection

1. Unpack the Telefunken R1005 and place it on a stable, flat surface.
2. Connect the provided power adapter to the DC IN jack on the back of the unit.
3. Plug the power adapter into a standard wall outlet. The display will light up.

4.2 Setting the Time

1. Press and hold the SET/PRESET button until the hour digits start flashing.
2. Use the HR/TUN+ button to adjust the hour.
3. Press the SET/PRESET button again, and the minute digits will flash.
4. Use the MIN/TUN- button to adjust the minutes.
5. Press the SET/PRESET button once more to confirm and exit time setting mode.

5.1 Radio Operation

1. Press the Power Button to turn on the radio.
2. Press the SET/PRESET button briefly to switch between FM radio and other modes (if applicable).
3. Use the HR/TUN+ or MIN/TUN- buttons to manually tune to your desired FM frequency.
4. To automatically scan and save stations: Press and hold the SET/PRESET button. The radio will scan for available FM stations and save them to presets (up to 30).
5. To recall a preset station: Briefly press the SET/PRESET button repeatedly to cycle through saved stations.
6. Adjust the volume using the AL1/VOL- and AL2/VOL+ buttons.

5.2 Setting Alarms (Dual Alarm)

The R1005 features two independent alarms (AL1 and AL2).

Setting Alarm 1:

1. Press and hold the AL1/VOL- button until the AL1 hour digits flash.
2. Use the HR/TUN+ button to set the desired alarm hour.
3. Press AL1/VOL- again, and the minute digits will flash.
4. Use the MIN/TUN- button to set the desired alarm minutes.
5. Press AL1/VOL- again to select the alarm source: BUZZ (buzzer sound) or RADIO (last tuned radio station). The corresponding indicator will light up.
6. Press AL1/VOL- once more to confirm and activate Alarm 1.

Setting Alarm 2:

Follow the same steps as Alarm 1, but use the AL2/VOL+ button instead of AL1/VOL-.

Disabling an Alarm:

When an alarm is sounding, press the Power Button to turn it off completely until the next set alarm time. To temporarily disable an alarm, press the corresponding AL1/VOL- or AL2/VOL+ button until the alarm indicator light turns off.

5.3 Snooze Function

When an alarm sounds, press the SNOOZE/SLEEP button. The alarm will pause for approximately 9 minutes and then sound again. You can repeat this function multiple times.

5.4 Sleep Timer

The sleep timer allows you to fall asleep to music, with the radio automatically turning off after a set period.

1. While the radio is playing, press the SNOOZE/SLEEP button repeatedly to cycle through the available sleep timer durations (e.g., 90, 60, 30, 15 minutes, OFF).
2. The selected duration will be displayed briefly. The radio will automatically turn off after the chosen time.
