3. Product Overview
The KWANWA KW1028S is a battery-operated digital alarm clock featuring a large 1.4-inch red LED display for clear visibility. Its compact design makes it suitable for various environments, including bedrooms and offices.

4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the alarm clock.
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert 4 new AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
The clock display will illuminate once batteries are correctly installed.
5. Operating Instructions
The control buttons are located on the back panel of the clock. Refer to Figure 5.1 for button identification.

5.1 Button Functions
- TIME SET / DIM-: Press and hold to enter time setting mode. Short press to decrease value or dim display.
- AL SET / DIM+: Press and hold to enter alarm setting mode. Short press to increase value or brighten display.
- HOUR / 12/24: In setting mode, adjusts the hour. Outside setting mode, toggles between 12-hour and 24-hour format.
- MIN / AL ON/OFF: In setting mode, adjusts the minute. Outside setting mode, toggles alarm on/off.
- SNOOZE / AL STOP (Top button): Press to activate snooze during an alarm. Press and hold to stop the alarm.
5.2 Setting the Time
- Press and hold the TIME SET / DIM- button for 2 seconds until the hour digits flash.
- Press the HOUR / 12/24 button to adjust the hour.
- Press the MIN / AL ON/OFF button to adjust the minute.
- Press the TIME SET / DIM- button again to confirm and exit time setting mode.
5.3 Setting the Alarm
- Press and hold the AL SET / DIM+ button for 2 seconds until the alarm hour digits flash.
- Press the HOUR / 12/24 button to adjust the alarm hour.
- Press the MIN / AL ON/OFF button to adjust the alarm minute.
- Press the AL SET / DIM+ button again to confirm and exit alarm setting mode.
5.4 Turning Alarm On/Off
Short press the MIN / AL ON/OFF button to toggle the alarm function on or off. An alarm icon will appear on the display when the alarm is active.
5.5 Snooze Function
When the alarm sounds, press the large SNOOZE / AL STOP button on top of the clock to activate the snooze function. The alarm will temporarily stop and sound again after approximately 9 minutes.
5.6 Stopping the Alarm
To stop the alarm completely, press and hold the SNOOZE / AL STOP button on top of the clock, or press any button on the back panel (except for snooze). The alarm will reset for the next day.
5.7 Adjusting Display Brightness
Press and hold the TIME SET / DIM- button or AL SET / DIM+ button for 2 seconds (outside of setting mode) to cycle through brightness levels (dimmer/brighter).
5.8 12/24 Hour Format
Short press the HOUR / 12/24 button (outside of setting mode) to switch between 12-hour (with AM/PM indicator) and 24-hour time formats.
5.9 Flashing Colon
To start or stop the flashing dots (colon) between the hour and minute digits, press and hold the MIN / AL ON/OFF button for 2 seconds.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
Wipe the clock surface with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish or display.
6.2 Battery Replacement
When the display becomes dim or the clock functions erratically, it is time to replace the batteries. Follow the battery installation steps in Section 4.1. It is recommended to replace all 4 AA batteries simultaneously with new ones.
7. Troubleshooting
- Display is dim or blank:
Ensure batteries are correctly installed and are not depleted. Replace with fresh AA batteries if necessary. Adjust brightness settings as per Section 5.7. - Alarm does not sound:
Verify that the alarm is turned on (check for the alarm icon on the display). Ensure the alarm time is set correctly. - Time is inaccurate:
Replace batteries with fresh ones. If the issue persists, reset the time as per Section 5.2. - Colon (dots) between numbers are not flashing:
Refer to Section 5.9 to toggle the flashing colon feature.
