4. Setup
4.1 Air Supply Connection
- Ensure your air compressor is capable of providing the required air pressure and volume for the tool (typically 90 PSI).
- Install an air line filter/regulator/lubricator (FRL) unit as close to the tool as possible. This ensures clean, dry, and lubricated air, which is crucial for the tool's longevity.

4.2 Chisel Installation
- Disconnect the tool from the air supply before installing or removing chisels.
- Pull back the quick-change chisel retainer collar.
- Insert the .401-inch shank chisel into the tool until it seats firmly.
- Release the retainer collar, ensuring it snaps back into place to securely lock the chisel. Gently tug on the chisel to confirm it is locked.

5. Operation
Once the tool is properly set up and connected to the air supply, it is ready for operation.
- Grip: Hold the air hammer firmly with both hands, maintaining a stable stance.
- Positioning: Place the chisel tip against the workpiece at the desired angle.
- Activation: Depress the trigger to start the hammering action. The tool will begin to deliver 3,000 BPM.
- Control: Apply steady, controlled pressure to the tool. Allow the hammer to do the work; excessive force is not required and can lead to reduced efficiency or tool damage.
- Stopping: Release the trigger to stop the hammering action.
- Workpiece Considerations: Always secure the workpiece to prevent movement during operation. Be aware of potential kickback or material fragmentation.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your AIRCAT air hammer.
6.1 Daily Maintenance
- Lubrication: Add 5-10 drops of pneumatic tool oil into the air inlet before and after each use. If using an in-line oiler, ensure it is filled and functioning correctly.
- Inspection: Check the tool for any signs of damage, wear, or loose parts. Ensure the chisel retainer is operating smoothly.
- Cleaning: Wipe down the tool with a clean cloth to remove dirt and debris.
6.2 Air System Maintenance
