Setup

1. Attaching the Protective Guard

Before first use, attach the protective guard to the trimmer head. Ensure the guard is securely fastened with the provided screw to prevent debris from striking the user during operation.

2. Adjusting Handle and Height

Adjust the auxiliary handle to a comfortable position for optimal control. The trimmer's height can also be adjusted to suit your stature, reducing strain during prolonged use.

3. Inserting the Battery

Operating Instructions

1. Powering On and Off

To power on the trimmer, press the safety lock-off button and then squeeze the trigger. To turn off, simply release the trigger.

2. Using 2-Speed Control

The trimmer features a 2-speed control switch. Use Speed 1 for extended runtime and lighter trimming tasks. Switch to Speed 2 for increased power to tackle tougher overgrowth and denser weeds.

3. EASYFEED String Advance

To advance the trimmer line, simply press the EASYFEED button located on the handle. This eliminates the need for bumping the trimmer head on the ground, providing continuous cutting without interruption.

4. Trimming and Edging

Maintenance

1. Spool Replacement

When the trimmer line runs out, replace the spool with a new BLACK+DECKER AF-100-3ZP spool. Ensure the trimmer is off and the battery is removed before attempting replacement. Press the tabs on the spool cap to remove it, then replace the empty spool with a new one, feeding the line through the eyelet. Secure the cap back in place.

Troubleshooting

• Trimmer not starting: Ensure the battery is fully charged and properly inserted. Check that the safety lock-off button is pressed before squeezing the trigger.
• Line not advancing: Press the EASYFEED button. If the issue persists, check the spool for tangles or ensure it is correctly installed.
