Setup
1. Charging the Battery
- Insert the Battery Pack NB-11LH into the Battery Charger CB-2LF.
- Plug the charger into a power outlet. The charge indicator light will illuminate.
- Charging is complete when the indicator light turns off.
2. Inserting the Battery and Memory Card
Open the battery/card compartment cover on the bottom of the camera. Insert the charged battery pack and a compatible Micro SD memory card (up to 32 GB recommended) into their respective slots. Close the cover securely.

Operating the Camera
Power On/Off
Press the [ON/OFF] button to power the camera on or off.
Capturing Photos
The camera features a 20.2 Megapixel High-Sensitivity CMOS sensor and a DIGIC 4+ Image Processor for excellent image quality, even in low light conditions thanks to the Canon HS SYSTEM. To take a photo, frame your subject on the 3.0-inch LCD screen and press the shutter button halfway to focus, then press it all the way down to capture the image.
Recording Videos
Record spectacular 1080p Full HD videos in MP4 format. Press the dedicated movie button to start and stop recording. The camera's optical image stabilization helps ensure smooth footage.
Zoom Function
Utilize the 12x Optical Zoom (equivalent to 25–300mm) to capture subjects from a distance or wide-angle scenes. The Optical Image Stabilizer (Intelligent IS) automatically selects the best stabilization method for stills and videos, reducing blur from camera shake.
Wi-Fi and NFC Connectivity
Built-in Wi-Fi and NFC technology allow for easy sharing and transferring of images and videos. Use the free Canon Camera Connect app on compatible iOS/Android devices to:
- Upload images to social media via CANON iMAGE GATEWAY.
- Transfer images directly to compatible devices.
- Perform remote shooting, controlling the camera from your smartphone or tablet.
The Image Sync Function enables wireless transfer to a computer via CANON iMAGE GATEWAY.
Creative Shooting Modes
- Hybrid Auto: Records up to four seconds of video before each still image, then combines clips and photos into a video recap of the day.
- Creative Shot: Captures an original image and automatically generates five additional copies with unique artistic filters.
- Story Highlights: Automatically compiles images and videos from a specific day or event into a mini highlight reel with music and effects.
Maintenance
- Keep the camera clean by wiping it with a soft, dry cloth.
- Avoid exposing the camera to extreme temperatures, dust, or moisture.
- Store the camera in a protective case when not in use.
- Ensure the battery is charged regularly, even if not in frequent use, to maintain battery health.
Troubleshooting
