5. Operating Instructions

Before operation, ensure the tool is properly set up and all safety precautions are observed.

  1. Power Connection: Connect the tool's power cord to a suitable 230V power outlet.
  2. Mode Selection: Rotate the mode selector switch to choose the appropriate operating mode:
    • Drilling Mode (Rotary Only): For drilling in wood, metal, and plastics without hammer action.
    • Hammer Drilling Mode (Rotary with Hammer): For drilling in concrete, masonry, and stone. This mode combines rotation with powerful hammer blows.
    • Chiseling Mode (Hammer Only): For light chiseling work, such as removing tiles or breaking small sections of concrete. (Note: This model primarily focuses on drilling, but chiseling is possible with appropriate accessories and mode selection if available).
  3. Starting and Stopping: Press the trigger switch to start the tool. The variable speed control allows you to adjust the speed by varying the pressure on the trigger. Release the trigger to stop. For continuous operation, press the lock-on button while the trigger is depressed, then release the trigger. To stop, press the trigger again.
  4. Reverse Operation: Use the forward/reverse switch to change the direction of rotation. This is useful for screwdriving applications or to free a jammed drill bit. Ensure the tool is stopped before changing direction.
  5. Overload Clutch: The tool is equipped with an overload clutch that disengages the drive if the drill bit jams. This protects both the user and the tool from damage. If the clutch activates, release the trigger immediately.
